Everyone that I know loves receiving gifts through the post. It breaks up the monotony of bills and junk mail which arrive on the doormat and instead gives you something to look forward to when you get home from work. Being a contributor to this website means that I have a strong penchant for subscription boxes (obviously!), however, it can be an inconvenience having to arrange redeliveries or picking up parcels at the weekend if you miss something.
This is why I think Letterbox Gifts are a genius idea. They specialise in curating gift boxes which are packed into slim, letterbox-friendly packages, so you can say goodbye to missed deliveries and wasted hours waiting for a courier that never shows up! Several companies do a similar concept, but Letterbox Gifts are the first that I’ve come across who offer a really good range of gifts covering everything from New Mums, Gardeners, Pampering, Tea, Chocolate, Beauty gifts for Women, and there are even gifts for that special Man in your life. All of the products in the gift boxes are sourced from ethical, independent British producers too, so they’re a great way to discover new smaller companies and to support home-grown businesses.Letterbox Gifts very kindly sent me their Chocolate Gift Box to review and it arrived in perfect condition, straight through the letterbox the next day. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into the presentation of their gifts, and underneath the tissue paper and natural wood wool, I found all of the following delicious chocolate products alongside a personalised card and a menu listing what was inside.Amelia Rope Chocolate – Pale Lemon and Sea Salt (75g)
An award winning bar of chocolate from Amelia Rope which has been inspired by her travels, this 39% Ecucardoiran milk chocolate has been blended with Maldon Sea Salt and Organic Lemon Oil. The bar features easy to break off squares and a pretty cocoa bean/leaf design engraved into it. It’s wonderfully creamy and rich, with the lemon and salt adding an extra flavourful twist to a high-quality bar of milk chocolate. I’ll certainly be looking into more flavours from Amelia Rope in the near future and would happily repurchase this again!Cocoa Wonderland – White Chocolate Buttons (80g)
This bag of smooth and creamy mini buttons of white chocolate are like a luxury, adult version of Milkybar buttons, but a million times better. They’re handmade in small batches in Sheffield and are a pure and simple treat for anyone who loves white chocolate.Willie’s Cacao – Indonesian Gold Chocolate Bar (50g)
I’ve purchased many bars of Willie’s Cacao over the years, but I haven’t tried this Indonesian Gold flavour before so I was really looking forward to trying it out! This is described as a ‘single estate cacao’ that’s made with all-natural ingredients and features the famous Javan Dark Breaking cocoa bean. It’s like a classic high-quality dark chocolate but with a difference; there’s no bitterness, just a smooth, rich flavour with subtle notes of caramel for a touch of sweetness. Cocoa Cabana – Caramel Milk Chocolate Drops (60g)
Handcrafted by artisanial chocolatiers, these Caramel Milk Chocolate Drops were my favourite product in this box. They are absolutely moreish little drops of melt-in-your-mouth goodness! Great quality milk chocolate with a strong caramel/toffee rich flavour. My only complaint is that the bag was quite small and they were quickly devoured by myself and my sister!Fudge Kitchen – Handmade Clotted Cream Gourmet Fudge (45g)
I love fudge and proper traditional fudge made with clotted cream is my favourite way to enjoy this sweet treat. This is a classic creamy and buttery fudge that quickly melts in your mouth and has a delicate vanilla flavour running through it. Really lovely stuff.
If you’re looking for a high quality, luxury chocolate gift for someone special or as a well-deserved treat for yourself, look no further. And if you’re not, be sure to check out the rest of the range of Letterbox Gifts as I’m sure you’ll find that perfect present.
