The April ZBox has a definite theme – Batman, and inside this month’s box there were five gems just waiting to be opened! I’ve yet to be disappointed with the ZBox subscription and if you are new to the service it’s a monthly box delivered to your home from £18.49 per month. In each monthly box you get four to seven geeky items usually following a theme, and each box will have exclusive and licensed merchandise included as well as a t-shirt so don’t forget to include your clothing size when you subscribe. Also if you do decide to subscribe, there is no commitment as you can cancel whenever you like, which is great if you want to trial the box out for a couple of months before you make a decision.
Each month the box itself has amazing illustrations on it and this month is no exception as Thomas Walker, an illustrator based in Brighton designed the Batman themed box. So great to see a different design on and in the box and something you will definitely want to keep.
Don’t be fooled into thinking the t-shirts are bit naff because it’s a subscription box, they are really good quality, cotton and very wearable and all the t-shirts I have received so far have great themed illustrations on too, and this month’s is no exception. Inside and out this month’s box looks incredible with the cool Batman illustrations on the inside and the collection of monochrome illustrations on the outside – totally spoiled for choice!
Inside the box this month’s t-shirt was of course a Batman one and what a great design it is – in blue and black and easy to wear material, a perfect t-shirt for all this hot weather! The retro charm of the Batman jigsaw from Half Moon Bay is perfect and with 150 pieces to find it kept me busy for some time, it was great to find a product I really wasn’t expecting and I really love the design.
Like building things? Then you are in luck this month with a nifty Build Your Own Batmobile from Palatone, once finished it’s a perfect 3D figure to put on show. Something I haven’t seen before was the Kawaii Cubes from Wish Factory, super cute and in all the DC characters and so collectable and soft. I feel another collection coming on as they are really sweet and you will want to display them – great idea to have them as cubes as you can stack them up and end up buying more!
Last in the box also from Paladone is a set of Batman Playing Cards so you can brush up on your card skills (don’t worry if you are a little rusty as there are some tips in the ZBox magazine) and keep them looking pristine in the very cool Batman card tin. What’s not to love?! It’s a really great box this month and Batman fans will be thrilled with the collectable goodies inside, I like the mix of items and of course the t-shirt is always welcome as the designs (as this one is) are very wearable and I feel adding in a good quality t-shirt really boosts the value of the box.
The unique and collectable Batman items, as well as the amazing illustrated box offer great value to the subscription fee and this month’s box in my eyes is another winner. One extra thing I must add about the box is the magazine that comes with it, it’s so worth a read and is full of information on the monthly theme as well as quizzes and relevant Zavvi merchandise, every month I find myself learning something new about the theme of the box. Bring on next month’s box I say and the magazine has a little spoiler at the back telling me it’s going to be Marvel themed – which means another amazing box!
