Look Fantastic’s beauty box has earned itself a reputation of being one of the best on the market. Look Fantastic is unlike other subscription boxes in that it began as an online beauty boutique and now stocks over 14,000 products by 350 brands. I’ve had a few of their beauty boxes in the past and its evident that being a leader in the online beauty market provides them access to the pick of the crop in terms of contents for their boxes.
May’s box was about celebrating your natural beauty so it was packed with products to guarantee a radiant complexion. Personally I’m a big fan of receiving skincare over makeup. I find makeup much more personal and I rarely end up receiving my colour of choice. Also, I like the idea of having the opportunity to trial skincare products before I take the plunge and buy it, so that being said this month’s box was perfect for me and I discovered some real winners!
Elle Magazine
I was very happy to see this month’s Elle included with my beauty box. As a magazine fanatic this was a fab addition!
REN – Wake Wonderful Night Time Facial
I’ve used REN products in the past and never been much of a fan. They are usually heavily scented and don’t work at all well with my sensitive skin. Given my past experiences I wasn’t holding out much hope for this overnight mask but to my astonishment it blew me away! The morning after applying it my skin looked plumped and radiant. The results were amazing even after one use. I’m a total convert and I urge everyone to try it!
Ioma – Youthful Mositure Cream Day and Night
Ioma is a new brand to me but having done a bit of research it definitely has a cult following. The one thing which really stood out was the ingenious packaging. The face cream came in little individual pods making them perfect for travelling. I also think it’s much more hygienic than constantly putting your fingers into same pot of cream. The cream itself was light and smelt lovely, I imagine this is the perfect face cream to use whilst on holiday.
Uniq One – All in One Hair Treatment
Anything infused coconut oil gets my attention. It claims to have 10 benefits; repair damaged fibres, provide heat protection, improve shine, promote smoothness, protect coloured hair, detangles, provide long lasting hold, prevent split ends, add volume and contains UVA and UVB filters. This spray in treatment smelt absolutely lovely, was lightweight and felt very nourishing.
Wet Brush
A girl can never have too many hairbrushes, especially when they glide through tangles with such ease. The tips on the end of each bristle massage the scalp and stimulate circulation, which helps to keep you head and hair healthy.
Vichy – Lifactiv
The sad truth is you’re never too young to start using anti-aging products. In fact, those that start using them in their early 20s tend to look better in later life. This Vichy face cream provides a host of target treatments including evening out skin tone, brightening complexion, delivering intense hydration and reducing signs of lines and wrinkles. It’s also great on my sensitive skin.
Decleor – Intense Nutrition
Out of the three face creams I received in this box, this is my hands down favourite. It’s super thick and intensely nourishing which is most likely due to the Argan and Avacado. It also smells lovely but thankfully isn’t too overpowering. I really am a big fan of this product.
Eve Lom – Cleanser
I was very excited to see this cult product included in this month’s box. This is Eve Lom cleanser is the product of choice for many beauty experts and fanatics but somehow I was yet to try it! Although it’s only a tiny sample (5ml) I managed to get 4 uses out of it which was more than enough to make me fall in love with it. I will definitely be repurchasing this. The cleanser and accompanying muslim cloth remove even the most stubborn makeup while decongesting, exfoliating and toning skin.
