Baking is one of my favourite things to do when I have some free time. It helps me to de-stress from a busy week, and I just love making delicious treats that I can share and enjoy with my friends and family. With the popularity of TV shows like The Great British Bake Off, more and more us are trying our hand at baking at home, but it can be difficult to know where to begin if you’re new to it all, or if you simply want to try something different from the usual recipes that you follow.
This is where I feel Bake Box comes in as it’s a subscription box which has a different theme every month to get you inspired. Each box contains at least 6 specially curated bakeware items, including at least 2 innovative ones that you won’t be able to find on your local highstreet. In addition to the bakeware, you’ll also receive 6 step by step recipe cards, as well as online access to their exclusive Bake Club Live website that features expert masterclass videos and baking tutorials, bonus recipes and an online community where you can chat to and discuss ideas with fellow bakers.
Bake Box very kindly sent me two of their previous themed boxes so I can show you all the kinds of products and recipe cards that you can expect to receive from if you decide to subscribe.
The first box that I received was called ‘Springtime In Paris’, and it features 6 delicious recipes for Parisian style treats to create at home. The recipe cards all look very easy to follow, and the cakes and biscuits look amazing! This box contains 6 bakeware products (a mixture of silicone, plastic and metal items), and a Rainbow Dust food colouring pen.
To create these beautiful Valentine Macarons, Bake Box have included a 16 hearts shaped silicone mat. I’ve always wanted to try making my own macarons so I’ll definitely be trying out this recipe at home this weekend!
To make this Tarte Aux Fraises, you have a full size silicone pastry brush to give you a helping hand with the glazing on top. I really like this pastry brush because my old one is made of wood fibres which is a nightmare to clean afterwards, so this silicone one will be a lot easier to maintain and use.
How amazing does this Chocolate Charlotte Birthday Cake look?! To create those lovely flowers on the top, Bake Box have included two different sized sets of silicone flower press moulds (one large, one small) so you can achieve a professional looking finish.
To make these delicious Springtime Calissons, there’s a three-piece metal cutter set, and like the other silicone bakeware pieces, these all feel very high quality too.
I love making cookies and these Parisienne Biscuits are super cute! To help you make these, there are two cutter and embosser sets (one Eiffel Tower shaped and the other is French Kitten shaped), which I know I’m going to get plenty of use out of. For the detailing, there’s a Rainbow Dust Black Food Colouring Pen which looks very interesting as I’ve never used anything like this before.
The sixth and final recipe in the Bake Box Springtime In Paris themed box is for Lavender Madeleines, which has an accompanying 9 hole silicone madeleine mould. I can’t wait to bake these!
The second Bake Box that I received was themed around decorating cakes and cookies with Spots And Stripes, and again includes 6 creative, easy to follow recipe cards, plus 7 items of high quality bakeware products.
First recipe is for this cool looking Polka Dot Swiss Roll which I never would have thought would have been easy to make myself, but thanks to the spotty deco silicone swiss roll mat and the Rainbow Dust ProGel, it now looks very do-able! I think this would look great at a kid’s birthday party.
The biggest bakeware item in the Spots And Stripes Bake Box is this huge swirly silicone bundt mould which is perfect for using to create the Chocolate Bundt Cake. What a gorgeous statement making cake!
For something even bigger, you can use these flexible plastic stripy and spotty stencils for the sides and tops of this Birthday Cake. Again, I think it’s the extra attention to detail which will make your cakes look like you’ve purchased them from an expensive shop, and is sure to wow party guests!
To give you a helping hand creating this Blueberry Charlotte Cake, Bake Box have included a plain icing nozzle, coupler and piping bag so you add easily add the striped detailing to this luxurious lemon cake.
