Last month I received my first ever Wootbox and I adored it! Last months theme was ‘beasts’ which was perfect and I loved pretty much every single item in the box. I couldn’t wait to see what the August box had in store. This months theme is ‘retro II’.
The August box included five items from the usual t-shirt to a money box, stress ball, figurine and a pin. As a child who was brought up playing PC and early Playstation games as well as Sonic and Mario games on my Gameboy Advance, I was excited with this box on the whole.
Let’s start with the most exciting and my favourite item from the box. It’s a GameBoy Money Box that has a holographic/Lenticular screen! I had a purple GameBoy and GameBoy Advance growing up in the 90’s and early 00’s.
I loved my GameBoy, I took it everywhere with me and the Mario games were definitely some of my favourites as well as Sonic The Hedgehog and of course, the Pokemon series. This item brings back so many memories and I love the holographic screen! It is worth €20.
Sticking with the video game nostalgia theme, the next item is a Mario themed stress ball which comes in three different characters and I wish I had received Boo! It’s such a cute little item that I think I’ll keep on my bookcase. They are worth €9.95.
Next up is an item from a series that I’ve never heard of, Saint Sena. It’s a official Seiya Agaruma figurine and there are five that you could have received and I have the Aquarius Camus figurine. They are worth €10.
Within each box there is a pin and last months was the hand from The Addams Family which I loved and this months pin is a retro game controller. I love these little metal pins, they are so well made and so cute! It is worth €4.
As well as a pin, there is also always a t-shirt in each box and this months t-shirt is another nostalgic item for me. My friends loved video games too and we always played them at each other’s houses and one friend of mine always either had Spyro or Crash Bandicoot playing constantly. It’s worth €20.
I have a womens size L and it fits me fairly well and I’m a UK size 10 – it’s a little big on me. I love the design as it brings back memories of playing video games with friends in the 90’s and early 00’s.
