In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Birchbox have teamed up with the amazing charity CoppaFeel! for a ‘Feeling Good‘ themed box this month which is packed full of beauty treats.
The design of the Birchbox boxes are always creative and interesting, but I feel that October’s is particularly special, with a cool, mesmerising and colourful marble-effect design. I love how you can easily re-use their boxes as they are presented as pull-out drawers, so perfect for storing bits and bobs in!
So let’s get stuck in and see what’s inside this month’s Birchbox shall we?
Model Co Contour Stick (deluxe sample, RRP £8 for full size)
This mini version of Model Co’s Contour Stick is a great way to try out the whole contouring trend without needing to go out and buy a kit. The stick has a very creamy formula which makes it easier to apply and blend – just swipe underneath your cheekbones, down the sides of your nose, and along your jawline, making sure to blend with a sponge or fingers to erase any tell-tale lines. Easy! It looks very natural on too, though I’d say this shade will only work for light-medium skin tones.
Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash (40ml travel size, RRP £16 for full size)
Next up, I found a travel size of Balance Me’s popular Pure Skin Face Wash. Made from 99% natural ingredients, this cruelty-free cleanser is also free from sulphates so it won’t dry out your skin. Can be used by all skin types and will easily remove makeup and grime so you can use it as both a morning and evening cleanser. I’ve tried this before and really like how gentle it is, so happy to have it back in my life – thanks, Birchbox!
Anatomicals Boob Tube Grab Your Melons Shower Gel (50ml travel size, RRP £1.50)
This bright green tube is a travel size of Anatomicals’ Boob Tube Grab Your Melons Shower Gel which have been specially developed with CoopaFeel! to encourage women to check their breasts when they’re in the shower. This shower gel smells really fruity and uplifting so it’s perfect to use first thing in the morning to help wake you up!
CoppaFeel Breast Cancer info
Underneath the shower gel, I found a handy sticker from CoppaFeel! which shows you how best to check out your breasts by look and feel. There’s also a card where you can contact CoppaFeel! to receive a free text to give you a monthly reminder to check your boobs – well worth doing!
Benefit The Porefessional Pearl Primer (3ml sample, RRP £26 for full size)
I was pleased to see a sample of Benefit’s Pearl Primer which comes from their bestselling Porefessional range. This one’s an oil-free, lightweight primer that has an added dose of soft pearly pigment to give you a brighter, smoother and more awake looking complexion. As I have dull skin, this sounds perfect for me and I can’t wait to try it out.
Ecotools Colour Perfecting Minis (RRP £6.70)
I’m a huge fan of Ecotools and use lots of their makeup brushes on a regular basis, so I was really intrigued by this set of Colour Perfecting Mini sponges. Designed with EcoFoam Technology which is made from 70% plant-based materials), these mini make-sponges help you to apply colour correcting formulas easily and precisely. They are plain sponges though, so you will need to have your own colour correcting formulas to use with them, but it’s a useful way to remember which sponge you’ve used with which colour-correcting colour by simply matching up the colours.
