nomakenolife is a monthly subscription box of Japanese cosmetics and beauty products. Japanese women take their skincare very seriously, and their beauty products are superb quality. They are also very big on products which contain natural ingredients, including collagen, and avoiding harsh chemicals. Here are the basics:They have one-, three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions costing from $29.99 (around £22) for one month (longer subscriptions are cheaper). Shipping is free. The box is on the sturdy size, so if you’re not in to receive it you might need to take a trip to the sorting office. But it’s worth it!Inside is the menu booklet. There’s a little introduction to this month’s box, a featured product, plus of course a full contents list. This is the featured product, C-TIVE Highlighter Set. This is the no.1 ‘pretty’ version with a pearl and honey coloured highlighter. This Felicia Highlighter Brush is the perfect accompaniment to the highlighter above. This is a nice treat, a Sweets Maison Macaron Bath Bomb. It’s both very pretty and smells delicious!Witch’s Pouch Peach Hand Cream is a great product for winter. Another treat for hands, this is a Be Creation Hand Mask. It works just like a face sheet mask except it’s in the shape of gloves. Very clever! I have to confess I know absolutely nothing about highlighters. I’ve never used one and I’ve got no idea how to! However for anyone who is better with makeup than I am will definitely appreciate the combination of highlighter and brush. I can certainly see how the fairly neutral colours will work well with pretty much any skintone. Having read up on how highlighter works, it sounds like the perfect thing for a perma-exhausted mother, so I think I’ll definitely be experimenting with this!I adore taking baths, so the bath bomb is my favourite treat. My hands also get very dry in winter, so the hand cream will be perfect to keep in my bag, and perhaps I’ll try out the hand mask when I’m enjoying the bath bomb.
