Halloween is just around the corner and who does Halloween better than anyone else? The Americans of course! So celebrate the spookiest time of the year with an Extra Box from Taffy Mail!
Taffy Mail is a monthly American candy themed subscription box and they have three different types of boxes to suit a range of budgets, Lite, Classic and Extra. As the name suggests, the ‘Extra’ box is really big and contains bigger items, as well as Limited Edition products etc, so let’s see what’s inside this month’s box!
Brachs Classic Candy Corn
Candy Corn is one of the most popular Halloween candy treats in the US, but it’s relatively unknown here in the UK so for that all-authentic American flavour, this huge share bag of Brachs Classic Candy Corn is a real treat. The taste of it is rather unusual though and it’s definitely a love it/hate it kinda thing, so you have to try it just to see if you like it!
T.G.I Friday’s Jalapeno Poppers in Cheddar Cheese
For something savoury, there’s a share bag of T.G.I Friday’s Jalapeno Poppers in Cheddar Cheese and these are so yummy. Seriously, the bag did not last long when my housemates found them! Baked instead of fried, they have a crunchy Wotsits style flavour to them, but with a bit of a spicy kick which I love.
Sour Patch Kids Tricksters
I’m a huge fan of sour sweets and Sour Patch Kids are one of my personal faves. This bag of Tricksters is new for Halloween and features a fruity mix of classic Sour Patch Kid flavours. Another generously sized bag too.
Andy Capp’s Hot Fries
Next up, there’s a small bag of Andy Capp’s Hot Fries. I’ve tried the brand’s Cheddar Fries in a previous Taffy Mail box but these Hot Fries are even better!
Peep’s Marshmallow Pumpkins
It’s not a Halloween candy box without some Peep’s Marshmallow Pumpkins and these are moreish and sweet. You get 8 in a pack and they’re gluten and fat-free.
Pibb Xtra
This month’s drink is a can of Pibb Xtra which I’m thrilled to see because it’s one of my favourite American soda drinks and I rarely ever see it for sale anywhere in the UK. It’s similar to Dr. Pepper, but a little spicier in my opinion and very addictive.
Flix Candy Box Of Boogers
Yep, these are pretty gross and perfect for Halloween! These gummy sweets are shaped just like boogies and have a slightly tangy taste to them with a mix of Melon, Sour Green and Lemon flavours.
M&M’s White Candy Corn flavour
How cool are these?! This pack of Limited Edition M&M’s comes out every year for Halloween and features the classic chocolate candy in a special White Candy Corn flavour. Fun and different!
Snickers Jack O Lantern & Twix Ghost
Keeping with the Halloween theme going strong, there’s two spooky treats from Snickers and Twix. The Snickers Jack Of Lantern is like a regular Snickers but flatter and shaped into a pumpkin, and the Twix Ghost is similar, but more biscuit based like a cookie. Yum!
Act II Butter Popcorn
You can’t watch a scary movie without a big bowl of popcorn and this American brand provides a handy share portion that’s ready quickly in the microwave.
Skor Bar
Next up, I found a Skor bar which is very similar to a Daim bar as it’s a thin layer of solid crispy toffee coated in milk chocolate. It’s not my favourite chocolate as I prefer the extra sweetness of Daim bars but it’s not bad either.
At the bottom of the box, I found some smaller items; an Orange Airheads Bar, two Laffy Taffy pieces in Cherry and Sour Apple, a Mallo Cup (I love these!), a Super Blow Up Candy Corn Pop, and a Mini Burger gummy candy.
