Calling all fellow gin lovers, have you seen the I Love Gin subscription box?! This amazing subscription box sends you a specially curated selection of artisan gin and premium mixers every month, delivered straight to your door. It’s a great way to discover and try out new gins from small artisan makers and each box contains enough to make up to four premium G&Ts. What a treat!
April’s I Love Gin is themed The Green Box, so let’s take a closer look at what’s inside:-
Greensand Ridge Distillery Rye Cask Gin (50ml, 40% vol)
Inside the box, I found two gins, both from the Greensand Ridge Distillery who I haven’t tried before. This eco-friendly and sustainable small brand promises to create products which have the smallest impact on the environment as possible, and ensures that any chemicals and waste produced on site is reused or recycled. This is in addition to the distillery being powered 100% by renewable energy – how awesome is that?!
Their Rye Cask Gin features natural ingredients which can all be found within a mile of the distillery; Bay Laurel, Poppy Seeds, Oak Moss, Cobnuts, Gorse Flowers, Hawthorn Berries, Rosehips and Honey. It’s absolutely delicious and has such a unique and interesting flavour – I’d happily purchase a full size bottle!
Greensand Ridge Distillery London Dry Gin (50ml, 40% vol)
If you prefer a more traditional gin, Greensand Ridge’s London Dry Gin will please the purists. This is a traditional dry gin with a clean and crisp flavour, bursting full of Juniper and balanced by a special blend of botanicals. It’s smooth and obviously works very well in a G&T – perfect to quench your thirst over the bank holiday weekend.
Ekobryggeriet Nordic Tonics in Bitter and Spruce (200ml each)
To complement such an eco-friendly gin, it was only right to source an equally eco-friendly tonic to mix with it and these two bottles from Ekobryggeriet tick all the right boxes. Formulated and produced in Sweden, every flavour is created with the Nordic landscape and culture in mind and all of the products are strictly organic. The company invests a third of its annual sales in charitable projects to help the environment and people in need.
Two flavours are included for you to try out, Bitter, which is a refreshing and ‘classic’ tonic water, and Spruce, which is an exciting mix of Swedish forest flavours – mildly zingy, herbal and invigorating!
