Lootaku is a premium monthly subscription based service to fulfill everybody’s geeky addictions. Our box features full figure statues and Asia exclusives that you will not find in any other subscription box. We promise no filler or promotional items, and our values are always based on current cheapest prices on Amazon.
Prices and values on the Lootaku website are given US dollars. A one month subscription is $44.99 (three and six month subscriptions are cheaper). This is around £35 and UK Shipping is $17.66, around £14. Slightly pricey, but this is a premium box. Also it’s coming a long way and it’s a big box!
So a 1 month subscription is going to cost you around £49.
I love the shipping box, such a cool design!
This month’s theme is OVERPOWERED PART 2, a companion to last month’s OVERPOWERED theme which also featured One Punch Man. This month features Hunter X Hunter and Bleach.
Once again with have just one figure in the box, One Punch Man Banpresto DXF Premium Figure Genos.
This figure shows Genos walking and displaying his cyborg parts.
It’s a nice companion to last month’s Saitama figure, though is possibly a slightly less exciting pose. Nonetheless, the quality is nice, as it always is with Banpresto figures.
This Hunter X Hunter Pro Hunter Licence is a must for any fans and cosplayers.
It’s made of metal, around the size of a credit card but much thicker, and the details are very impressive.
It would also make a nice display piece.
This looks like a replica sword, but actually it’s a Bleach Kurosaki Ichigo Zanpakuto Pen.
This sword shaped pen comes with an ink cartridge, and is one of the most unusual type of geek souvenirs I’ve seen! It would look terrific displayed on a desk or table, ready to fool the unwary!
This month’s enamel pin is another Bleach item, showing Kurosaki Ichigo in his signature Getsuga Tenshou move. This is a fantastic dynamic design, and the glittering flames are very effective. It’s a large pin, as they always are from Lootaku, and has two rubber holders on the back to keep it in place.
Finally, the t-shirt is a bit of a mashup! It’s an exclusive Select Your Character design, as an homage to fighter games. It shows an array of characters from various animae franchises, including Cell from DBZ, Kenshiro from Fist of the North Sea, and Whitebeard from One Piece.
A really fun and original design!
Here’s the menu card with details.
I think this month is a bit of a mixed bag.
The figure isn’t going to be released in the UK until later in the year, so it’s really cool to have it early. But I don’t find the figure itself hugely inspiring. The quality is good, but I’m less keen on the pose, as it’s a little more static than some of the other wonderful Banpresto dynamic figures.
The Hunter X Hunter licence is a beautifully made item, but it seems a little niche. I’m very impressed with the quality, and it would be great for cosplay, but it’s not something I would be able to find a use for.
The pen and the shirt are my favourites this month. I love the shirt design, it’s really fun and original, and of course the quality is wonderful.
The pen might seem like a novelty, but it’s actually nicely made and has great detailing. Geeky but fun!
The menu gives prices, though these can vary a little, given differences in inline stores. The figure will probably retail around £25, and the shirt is much better quality than your average geek shirt so is probably worth £12 – 15.
The other items can probably push he total up to around the £49 cost of the box.
