ZenPop – November 2021: Ramen & Sweets Pack – Japanese Autumn Delights

ZenPop are back with another seasonal selection of subscription boxes to enjoy!

Cup Noodle Porchini Kaoru Kinoko Potage from Nissin

The first ramen pot is a Nissin Cup Noodle. For fall, they’ve prepared a classic French dish of mushrooms and cheese. They’ve matched the fragrant flavor of Porcini, which is known as one of the three largest mushrooms in the world, and the scent of cheese, to accentuate the rich and rich feeling of a French bistro in autumn. Yum!

Atsu Atsu Gyusuki Udon from Maruchan

The second is a larger udon bowl. Hot beef udon noodles! Familiar at this time of the year, it makes you imagine the sweet and savory flavors of Japanese sukiyaki (すき焼き, a type of hot pot).

Pride Potato Munakata Yaki Nori Soy Sauce from Koikeya

All types of fish are used in Japanese snacks and these are definitely a love or hate it flavour for us Westerners! The taste of conger eel, the sweet soy sauce that is popular in northern Kyushu, and the mellow grilled seaweed made from Ariake seaweed make it a delicious snack, hence the name Pride Potato.

Toppo Satsumariko from Lotte

Thankfully this sweet snack is much more to my liking. This snack’s unique satsumariko flavor is now available is sometimes referred to as the “reverse pocky” and features a sweet potato flavour.

Hagoromo Arare from Bourbon

Hagoromo Arare (⽻⾐あられ) from Bourbon (ブルボン), an old-fashioned simple thousand pieces of rice crackers made from 100% domestic rice that expresses the thin clothes that the celestial maiden dances. “Algae salt” is added to create a rich salty taste. Hagoromo Arare was released in 1962 and has been a fan favorite ever since.

Shimichoco Corn Stick from Ginbis

This interesting product is a chocolate-flavored cornstick. It’s easy to eat and quite sweet!

Fruits Doughnuts Gummy from Yaokin

A tasty donut-shaped fruit-flavored gummy with a hint of sourness.

Dragon Ball super gum from Coliss

A Japanese candy extra!
