Banjo Robinson travels around the world having adventures, and write letters from all the places he visits. He’s also a cat!
This fantastic penpal for kids has made his was back to the UK and has sent his latest letter from bonny Scotland.
He’s sent a lovely story about competing in Highland games, which is sure to produce some giggles from the reader.
The letter itself is also beautifully illustrated, and contains his trademark references to other animals he meets along the way.
You don’t just get a letter either. Included is a colouring sheet, a city map with some extra fun trivia, and a recipe card for a local treat.
(If you haven’t tried Scottish Tablet you really should. It’s delicious.)
Of course the penpal relationship isn’t one way, you, or rather your child, writes back.
Banjo’s letter also contains a sheet of writing paper and envelope, plus stickers and stamps for the reply.
The reply system is very clever. Children post their letter under the sofa to be collected by a local cat and passed on the Banjo. In other words, parents sneak the letter out and hide it away, which means they also have a lovely souvenir of their child’s writing.
When you subscribe you give various items of information about the recipient such as favorite food, pets etc. This means each letter can be have individual details to suit the child receiving it.
Also every fortnight you are prompted to add an extra PS via the website, so you can add and extra message from Banjo. This works really well, as you can reference particular events or achievements, or even something basic like reminding them to eat their vegetables!
