I was so excited to receive my first ever Birchbox this month and it didn’t disappoint! For those of you who haven’t heard of Birchbox, they’re one of the most popular beauty subscription boxes and they send you a surprise selection of beauty treats every month which can include makeup, skincare, haircare, body care and they sometimes include accessories or lifestyle products as well.
Each Birchbox is themed and they’ve gone all out for August with an amazing Mermaid Vibes theme which includes a special mermaid scale print box – how awesome is that?! The box features a pull-out drawer which is where I found all of this month’s products tucked away inside. I really love this box design and will definitely be reusing it to store some of my beauty bits and pieces on my vanity table!
Mermaid Enamel Pin Badges – Set of 4
The first product that I took out was this super cute set of enamel pin badges featuring a shell, lipstick, mermaid and a peace sign. I love collecting little things like badges and these are so cool!
Secretly A Mermaid Pencil
Next up, I found a purple pencil with the slogan ‘Secretly A Mermaid’ printed on the side. This is a nice little extra for this month’s box theme – thanks Birchbox :)
Spectrum Collections A05 Brush (full size)
Moving onto the beauty products, Birchbox have included a beautiful brush from Spectrum Collections. This is their A05 Brush which is angled so that you can use it with bronzers, highlighters and setting powders. The bristles are cruelty-free and synthetic, and they are super soft and silky. I love the graduated colouring on them – so pretty!
LOC One And Done Shadow Stick in Out Of Your Shell (full size)
A Birchbox exclusive, this eyeshadow crayon from LOC contains a formula that delivers up to 11 hours of creaseless, waterproof colour. It applies smoothly onto the lids and is easy to blend out with just your fingers, so it’s a great product to reach for when you’re in a rush. I received the shade ‘Out Of Your Shell’ which is a pale nude/yellow gold with a little shimmer – perfect for applying to the inner corner to open up your eyes and make them look more awake.
Number 4 Sugar Texturizing Spray (3oml travel size)
For hair, there’s another Birchbox exclusive in the form of this Sugar Texturising Spray from the US brand, Number 4. This spray has been formulated with sugar cane to add oomph without the crunch. It’s ideal for using as a styling spray for loose, shiny waves and it also doubles up as a heat protector too.
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer (10ml travel size)
I’ve used this and the regular NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Oil many times in the past and I absolutely love the scent of it. It’s a fantastic multi-purpose oil that you can use just about anywhere; face, body, hair, everywhere! This one has a stunning golden shimmer to it to add an instant glow and hint of golden radiance. A summer must-have.
Huygens Supernature Cream (10ml travel size)
The last product is the third Birchbox exclusive for this month, and it’s a travel size tube of the popular Supernature Cream from French brand, Huygens. Packed with Organic Rose Water, this cream helps to boost circulation, soothe any redness and naturally smooths always dead skin cells for instant radiance. I’ve only tried it once so far, but it gave me a beautiful dewy finish so I’m looking forward to using up this sample!
