When you have a monthly box subscription it can be a bit hit and miss when you come to the festive months. It must be hard not to fall into stereotypical ‘Christmas’ or ‘New Year New You’ items. The team at Boxcitement have managed to get the balance just right with the December box, with lots of Wintery/festive bits but nothing too twee.
What’s in this month’s box?
- A sequin pouch for stationery or cosmetics
- Handy snowflake bottle opener
- Wearable snowball necklace
- Party animals beauty set (pocket mirror and lip balm)
- A set of wooden snowflake decorations for craft projects
- Colourful 2020 calendar
The highlights
I’m always a fan of the jewellery items that you get from Boxcitement and the wearable snowball pendant does not disappoint. The silver chain is nice and long and the two ‘snowballs’ are lovely quality. I’ve worn mine a lot over Christmas with plain dark coloured jumpers and they really brightened the outfits up. Whilst they are festive they are not obviously so and you could wear throughout the year.
The party animals beauty set came at the perfect time. I didn’t get a new bag for Christmas but I did clear mine out and these are now in there, close at hand. The lip balm is lovely and the mirror is great, the ‘foxy’ mention on the front brings a smile to my face each time I use it!
I love the calendar in this box. The muted tones are really welcoming and work really well in our main bedroom. In previous years I’ve used my Boxcitement calendar at work and its just a really useful addition.
As a working mum who is rapidly approaching 40, I don’t have a lot of time for party pouches! But I do have a lot of random make up bits that I usually can’t squeeze into my makeup bag. I’ve been using this to store make up brushes and its absolutely perfect.
Speaking of perfect, I adore this little bottle opener! This is now hanging in our kitchen and has been used a lot over the festive break. It’s great quality and nice to have something so practical that is also so pretty too!
Last but not least, this was a fab addition to the box. I’ve been doing a lot of crafting this year but fell ill in December so wasn’t able to make all the pieces I wanted to for Christmas. I may have missed it this year but I’ve now got these earmarked for craft projects in 2020.
