I was intrigued to see what would come in the May box from the team at Boxcitement; I wondered if they would ignore the Coronavirus Lock down altogether or work it in somehow. In my opinion, they managed to get the balance just right.
What’s in the box?
- A bright and colourful ‘hello’ necklace
- A funky collapsible desk tidy
- Bright stationery set
- Letter writing kit
- Lovely wooden comb
- A worry stone and pouch
- A wood and thread crafty heart.
The highlights
My absolute favourite item from this box has been this ‘hello’ necklace. It is such a good quality piece and I reckon you’d need to spend about £10-£12 to buy something similar; so its worth around half of the box value just from one item. It’s stunning and might be my favourite ever piece from Boxcitement.
I am a bit of a crystal-sceptic so when I saw this I wasn’t exactly blown away, however after getting the stone out and playing with it I could see how people find them soothing. It was really relaxing and helped me to concentrate that day. It’s a thoughtful addition to the box.
I also really liked the stationery set and letter writing kit in this months’ box. If ever there was a time to put pen to paper then its now, and I also really liked the neutral design. The highlighter has already come in handy and the slogan on the pencil made me smile.
Tidy desk: tidy mind
One of the items that really intrigued me was the desk tidy. This is how it arrived in the box…
Being honest, I wasn’t convinced to begin with and even after putting it together I was still a bit unsure. However it’s now in our spare room/office/craft area and has been an absolute godsend. It’s been keeping a lot of my bits and bobs all together in the one place. I love that it can be collapsed again and packed flat, making it a perfect piece to take away on holiday (if we can ever have one of those again!). You could use it for jewellery, nail varnish, etc. A great little addition.
Get crafty!
I’m a huge craft fan so I loved opening the box and finding this. I’ve been working on a few designs and am adding some thread of my own. I love that you can change this and make your own designs and I can’t wait to finish mine.
Comb as you are
When I first got the comb out of the box I wasn’t blown away. However once I used it I was converted. This is a really nice comb and good quality wood. I’ve been using this in my son’s hair (before we lop it all off in a lockdown crop!) I don’t think it could handle mine. It has been about 9 months since it was cut last and has now taken to growing out rather than down!
