This month’s Boxcitement Box theme was a Latin America Fiesta, and given that this tends to be linked to two of my favourite things (cacti and llamas) I was excited to see what was inside.
What’s in the box?
- A set of ‘ouchless’ hair ties
- Pair of Aztec gold earrings
- A cactus bracelet
- Pair of cactus socks
- Llama themed notebook
- ‘No probllama’ rollerball pen
- Wooden papel picado bunting.
The highlights!
One of my favourite items is this fab pair of socks. I love cactus themed items anyway, but I also know that the socks that Boxcitement include in their boxes tend to be nice and soft – these didn’t disappoint.
I’m a huge jewellery fan so I loved the fact that you got both a bracelet and a pair of earrings in this box. Both are brilliant; the bracelet is bright and fun; and the earrings are very glam.
I also really like the ‘ouchless’ hair ties. My hair is rather insane at the moment and I need more hair ties. These have have been a godsend, and do indeed live up to their ‘ouchless name! They are really funky and I like this style because you can get away with wearing them on your wrist too.
I’m trying to harness my creative juices as we head into autumn and winter so the notepad and pen were welcome additions this month.
I’m going to use them to mock up some of my craft projects and they’re bound to make me smile as I do love a bit of llama drama.
The random discovery
What I love about Boxcitement is that they always to pop something in each month that really surprises you. Something that is so on point with the theme that month, but that is also completely unexpected. For me this month it was this wooden papel picado. Meaning ‘perforated’ or ‘pecked’ paper, these are considered a Mexican folk art and are decorative crafts made by cutting elaborate designs into sheets of tissue paper. This wooden version is unusual and cheerful and it really makes me smile.
