If you’re a cheese lover and you haven’t heard about Cheeseposties yet, where have you been?! This cheeky and cheesy subscription service sends you a delicious gourmet deconstructed cheese toastie through the post, and all you need to do is assemble all the fresh ingredients together, toast it and enjoy!
The team behind Cheeseposties have a great sense of humour and they obviously enjoy letting their imaginations run wild because the flavours of cheese toasties that you can receive are ‘creative’ to say the least. They have come up with flavour combinations that you’ve only ever dreamed of, and you can sign up to experience the savoury options, the sweet ones or have a bit of both delivered. I highly recommend the latter as it opens up your palate to all sorts of future cheese toastie adventures and as the saying goes, how do you know if you like something if you’ve never tried it?
For this month’s Cheese Postie, I received White Choc Bomb – a blissfully sweet cheese and white chocolate combination that I would never have thought to try myself. See what I meant about them being creative?!
Cheeseposties have also stepped up their game with their packaging this month and are currently trialling some stronger films on their plastic pots to prevent any mishaps during transit. I think this is a great idea and I can confirm that the pots are now super tough – I had to get a knife to cut mine open as they don’t peel back as easily as they used to!
Your Cheese Postie arrives in a long, letterbox friendly cardboard box and is dispatched via 1st Class Royal Mail for optimum freshness. All of the ingredients have their own sections and as you can see, mine arrived in perfect condition. With your first Cheese Postie, you’ll also receive a free reusable toasting bag, and then another one every three boxes so make sure that you keep it in a safe place after you’ve used it.
For the White Choc Bomb Cheese Postie, I received the following ingredients:-
- Two slices of White Bread
- Two mini packs of Kerrygold Butter
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Raspberry Jam
- White Chocolate Buttons
As this toastie features small white chocolate buttons, I buttered each side as usual and then I decided to place all the ingredients on one side of bread to make it easier to assemble. I folded it all together and placed into a hot frying pan with a little oil to get a nice brown colour on the bread. If you prefer, you can pop yours into a toasting bag straight into your toaster, but I feel you always get a much better result when you make it in a pan.
And this is what a White Choc Bomb cheese toastie looks like! This one will definitely appeal to those who have a sweet tooth as the White Chocolate Buttons are very sugary sweet, and the Raspberry Jam adds its own bit of fruity sweetness as well. Bizarrely, this all worked very well with the Mozzarella Cheese which melted beautifully, and the high-quality bread held everything together for a delicious Saturday morning treat – so tasty!
