The Cocktail Man is a new subscription box that I’ve discovered recently and it’s the brainchild of an expert mixologist who works in the London cocktail scene. As you may have guessed with a subscription box of this nature, the concept is a simple one, but it’s one that’s sure to delight anyone who enjoys making cocktails for themselves, friends and family, in the comfort of their own home.
Every month, you’ll receive the ingredients to make a different cocktail – allowing you to try a range of new flavours and high-quality spirits. Presented in a beautiful blue box, The Cocktail Man would make an excellent gift or treat for yourself!
I was thrilled to receive this month’s box which features a delicious Rum Plum Mai Tai cocktail recipe. Perfect for Father’s Day! On top of the box was the recipe card which shows you how to make it and inside, I found all of the following products, with enough to make a minimum of four cocktails.
Contents:
- 1 x Bramley & Gage Greengage Liqueur
- 3 x Havana Club Especial Golden Rum
- 1 x The Cocktail Man’s Rum & Plum Syrup
- 4 x Edible Moustaches and Pegs to decorate
All you need to add is some Lime Juice and Pineapple Juice (for the Lime, I simply used a fresh one and gave it a good squeeze into a separate glass before measuring it out).
To make the Rum Plum Mai Tai, I poured 35ml Havana Club, 10ml Greenage Liqueur, 10ml Rum & Plum Syrup, 5ml fresh Lime Juice and 50ml Pineapple Juice into a cocktail shaker and added some ice cubes. After a good hard shake, I then poured it into a Collins Glass which I filled up with extra ice. To finish, I added pegged on a moustache to garnish – easy peasy!
The Rum Plum Mai Tai was absolutely delicious and it was the perfect drink to accompany last night’s BBQ. I made additional glasses for friends who were visiting over the weekend and everyone commented on how good it was!
