Gin of the Month: Pennington’s Lakeland Moon Snowfell Gin (70cl / 40% ABV)
This beautiful winter-themed bottle comes from Pennington’s which is distilled in Kendal, in the Lake District. Lakeland Moon Snowfell Gin is a stunning addition to any gin lover’s collection and is based on a traditional London Dry recipe, using Juniper which is harvested under a full moon.
Botanicals include Juniper, Fennel Seed, Almond Powder, Orange Peel, Lemon Peel, Grapefruit Peel, Coriander, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice and Cassia Bark. It has a lovely clean and fragrant aroma with lots of sunny citrusy notes coming through. The gentle warmth of the mixed spices adds a wintery flavour and also helps to intensify the juniper-led flavour profile. I love it!
Mixers & Drinks: Twelve Below Tonics, Pura Soda and Esprala
This month, you can try two premium mixers from Twelve Below Tonics in Pear & Cardamom and Rhubarb & Ginger. There’s also a refreshing Cucumber & Lime soft drink from Pura Soda, and a can of Esprala Apple & Red Plum which can be used in the Cocktail Of The Month recipe (find it in your GINNED! magazine).
Extras, Syrups & Garnishes: Lady Of The Lakes Syrup, Pennington’s Bakewell Gin Liqueur and Apple & Cinnamon Garnish
For additional flavour, you can use the Lady Of The Lakes Syrup to complete the Cocktail Of The Month recipe, or why not try the Apple & Cinnamon Garnish for January’s special Perfect G&T? My favourite though is the mini Pennington’s Bakewell Gin Liqueur with its sweet Raspberry & Almond flavour – yum!
Savoury & Sweet Snacks: Boundless Nuts & Seeds, Rhythm 108 Sweet & Salty Almond Bar, Doisy & Dam D&Ds and Olly’s Salted Original Pretzel Thins
All of the premium snacks this month are vegan-friendly thanks to Veganuary and there are some brilliant brands featured.
