Shetland Reel Filska Gin (700ml, 40%)
This month’s featured gin is an extra special one as it’s an exclusive for Craft Gin Club members and won’t be released to the public until early 2019, so you lucky people get to try it out first! The Shetland Reel Filska Gin is hand-distilled on Unst, the northernmost isle of the Shetland Islands and the bottle is absolutely beautiful.
It’s been specially blended to be ‘citrus-forward’, so you’ll find that this gin is bursting full of fruity and zesty flavours with Red Grapefruit Peel and Red Grapefruit Juice at the heart of this interesting drink. It has the classic taste of Shetland Reel Gin, but this Filska edition combines those Grapefruit notes with warming Cinnamon, Ground Almonds, spicy Coriander seed, Juniper, Angelica Root and Orris Root for a truly different and delicious gin to enjoy this Winter. I’m a huge fan of this one and it makes such a unique G&T!
Firefly Peach & Green Tea + The London Essence Co Classic London Tonic Water and Crafted Soda
To complement such an innovative gin, there’s a fine selection of mixers included, three bottles in fact. One is Firefly Peach & Green Tea which can be enjoyed as a healthy soft drink in its own right, and two are from The London Essence Co and these feature two of the independent brand’s bestsellers; the Classic London Tonic Water and Crafted Soda, so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.
