Craft Gin Club is one of my favourite subscription boxes. Why? Because every month, they send you a FULL-SIZE bottle of artisan gin! It’s a box that I’ve recommended many times to friends and family and after you see the contents of this month’s offerings, I’m sure you’ll want to try it too!
As a subscriber to Craft Gin Club, you’ll receive the following every month:-
- A full-size bottle of artisan/craft Gin
- Exciting mixers including premium tonic waters
- Sweet & savoury foodie treats
- GINNED! club magazine
- Free delivery in the UK
The box itself is well packaged and all of the contents always arrive in perfect condition as you’ll see below. Opening it up feels like Christmas, so if you’re a fellow gin lover, keep on reading to find out what’s inside.
Burleighs Richard III Leicester Dry Gin (700ml, 40% vol)
October’s full-size gin of the month is Burleighs Richard III Leicester Dry Gin, an exclusive blend to celebrate the last Plantagenet king, whose remains were found underneath a car park in Leicester back in 2012. This gin is expertly distilled in small batches in the heart of the Charnwood Forest in Leicestershire and has become a popular distiller within the county.
On appearance alone, the vivid shade of purple that graces the bottle is instantly impressive and it definitely stands out as a feature in my gin collection. However, it’s the taste which is really something special. Featuring an array of botanicals that include Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Orris, Sage, Thyme, Cassia, Rose Petals, Chamomile, Schezaun Pepper, Cloves, Orange Peel and Lavender, this gin has a warm, fruity and spicy flavour which is perfect for the colder Autumn evenings.
The stronger notes of Clove and Orange also make it feel very Christmassy and regal too – perfect served with a Mediterranean tonic with slices of Blood Orange to finish it off. Beautiful!
Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial + Lamb & Watt Premium Mixers in Ginger Ale & Naturally Light Tonic Water
For mixers this month, Craft Gin Club have included an interesting selection. Firstly, there are two bottles of premium mixers from Lamb + Watt; one in Ginger Ale which I’ve never tried with gin (or any other spirit come to think of it) before, and their popular Naturally Light Tonic Water that has a clean and crisp taste.
Secondly, I found a small bottle of Bottle Green Cordial in Elderflower which is a lovely mixer alternative when you want something a little different to the usual tonic water selections.
Love Corn Sea Salt & BBQ flavours + Lily O’Brien’s Creamy Caramel & Sea Salt Chocolates
Rounding off this month’s box with something sweet and something savoury, there are two small bags of Love Corn in Sea Salt and BBQ (I particularly enjoyed the savoury crunch of the BBQ ones!), and a heavenly sharing bag of Lily O’Brien’s Creamy Caramel & Sea Salt Chocolates which are absolutely amazing!
