Craftiosity supplies a monthly craft kit which includes everything you need to make something lovely and useful with your own two hands. Past boxes have had a huge variety of projects, including a clock, a mobile, needle felting, and lots more. It’s a great way to try out lots of different techniques, and have something lovely at the end of it!
The box itself is very nicely presented – it’s all wrapped in cute tissue, and I love how the sticker seal reads ‘and so the adventure begins…’
Inside is a card that tells you about this month’s project: a beaded shelf. Not only does it look lovely with lots of natural tones, the shelf itself is made from dried palm leaves and really does have a wonderful tactile texture.
As I said, everything you need is inside the box: the shelf itself, cotton yarn, copper hoop, beads, and a needle.
As an extra little bonus there are three postcards too, which you could either send or use for decor or scrapbooking.
The instructions themselves are excellent. The whole process is detailed step-by-step with pictures so it’s very difficult to go wrong!
There is also a video available if you’re more of a ‘watch and copy’ person; I actually used it for one part of the process, and it was very useful.
The instructions estimate the creating time to be 1-2 hours. I completed it in about an hour, which was just the right amount of time for me.
And here’s my finished shelf! I’m going to have to find somewhere to hang it properly, but I think it would look lovely with a few air plants or cacti. I’m not sure how completely sturdy it is, or how much the shelf would survive watering, but I think it looks extremely attractive.
It was moderately challenging but not too much, just enough to be fun but not frustrating!
