I have been loving the craftiosity boxes I’ve received over the past year or so, especially the candle and bath bomb making kits. The February kit is a little different and thankfully it’s a very simple, straightforward kit to complete. The kits always come beautifully packaged and presented so they make wonderful gifts, especially with Mother’s Day around the corner for those in the UK.
The kit for February is a decoupage wooden box and as with all of the other kits, it contains almost everything you need to create your project – apart from basics such as scissors, for example. It comes with the wooden box, glue, a brush and the decoupage paper in two pretty patterns.
I opted for the pink pattern for not only the inside of the box but also the edges as I liked it much more than the blue print; however, you can mix and match as they suggest in the instructions. This kit was probably the simplest I’ve received but I am grateful for that this month as the January blues have rolled into February too.
To decorate the box, all you have to do is glue the pretty paper onto the edges of the box and the inside squares which is a very quick, easy activity. I didn’t rip the pieces, then glue them onto the box, as they do in the instructions as I wanted straight lines on the edges of the box so I just cut it into one piece.
Overall, I’m so happy with the way the project came out as it looks so pretty but it also a functional box as well. It is definitely bringing a little spring colour into our home. I’m not sure what I’m going to use the box yet but I might use it for stationery items.
