Today’s review is a little late but it’s a review of the March Craftiosity box. I’ve been receiving the boxes for a while and I always look forward to receiving them. I love crafting and DIY projects so this box is ideal for me! I’ve loved every box I’ve tried so far! The boxes can be pursed as a monthly subscription or a bi-monthly subscription.
The project for march was a hoop screen printed pouch project which is something I haven’t done before! As always the kit comes with almost everything you need to complete the project apart from a few items you’ll probably already have such as a pencil, tape, an iron and others. This project came with items I haven’t used before such as an embroidery hoop, fabric glue and screen printing ink. Additionally, the instructions are always easy to follow and well laid out but there are video tutorials available too.
The kit is always well presented, I love the box design and you typically don’t use every item fully from the box which means that you can use them for future DIY or craft projects of your own which is great. Also some items from the boxes can be re-used such as brushes, masks and more.
This kit was definitely a little out of my comfort zone but it was still enjoyable! Although my favourite Craftiosity project so far has to be the bath bomb making kit which was amazing. The March kit used products and techniques I’m not used to at all but I think my hoop screen printed pouch came out pretty well.
The box came with three design templates for your pouch. However, there is also an option to make your own design which is what I did. I opted for a simple star design but sadly I don’t think this style of crafting is for me personally; however, it’s nice to try something new!
The process of creating the design on the pouch was a little fiddly due to the glue and the organza fabric as the glue would transfer through. Also it was a little messy with the paint and it wasn’t a project that you could start and finish in a day but I think it’s worth it. I’ll definitely be re-using the embroidery hoop again for another project in the future.
Overall, while I wasn’t as invested or interested in this particular project on the whole, I’m very happy with the box and the experience. If you love crafting or DIY projects then you’ll love this subscription box as there is something new each month to try!
