Degustabox – April 2020: UK Vs International

There’s a fun UK Vs International theme going on with this month’s Degustabox, so if you’re curious to find out what’s inside this incredibly popular food & drink subscription box, keep on reading!

Please note: We have been sent the PR Degustabox so your contents may be slightly different – we have pointed this out throughout the review.

SXOLLIE Cider (RRP £1.80)

For sunny days in the garden, you can’t beat a nice cold cider and this one from SXOLLIE comes all the way from South Africa. This brand uses famous apples that you’re familiar with, such as Granny Smith and Pink Lady, to create delicious ciders that are vegan and gluten-free. I really enjoyed this Cripps Pink Apple flavour!

PEPPADEW Sweet Piquanté Peppers Mild Chopped (RRP £3)

A lot of pizza chains offer these tasty Peppadew Peppers as a topping option and now you can buy jars of them from Tesco. They are mildly spicy with a firm and crunchy texture -perfect for adding to your own homemade pizzas, as well as brightening up salads and rice bowls with their juicy flavour.

Brynmor Flapjack Caramel Fudge and Apple & Raspberry Flapjacks (RRP £1.29 each)

Lovingly baked in the heart of the Welsh countryside, these Brymor Flapkacks are available in a range of flavours and here you can try two of them in your Degustabox this month in Caramel Fudge and Apple & Raspberry. Both are nutritious providing a source of fibre and they’re also vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

Percy’s Caramel Chocolate Shortbread Sticks (RRP £3)

A tasty treat that will bring a smile to anyone’s face, Percy’s Caramel Chocolate Shortbread Sticks have a buttery, melt in your mouth shortbread that’s been generously coated in caramel milk chocolate. Needless to say, these did not last long!

Very Lazy Lemongrass Paste (RRP £1.85)

Home cooking is firmly back on the agenda and Very Lazy’s range of ready-to-use ingredients are ideal storecupboard staples. Their Lemongrass Paste is perfect for adding to Thai curries and even cocktails! Zesty and fresh, it will add a Spring zing to any dish.

Very Lazy Ginger Paste (RRP £1.85)

Also from Very Lazy, you’ll be able to try out their Ginger Paste in your Degustabox this month. This super smooth paste takes all the hassle out of chopping and peeling fresh ginger so you can simply squeeze a little into your homemade dish and enjoy.

Remedy Kombucha Raspberry Lemonade and Cherry Plum (RRP £1.85)

I’m a big fan of Kombucha for supporting your gut health and these Remedy Drinks are naturally fermented sweet tea packed with those beneficial live cultures. There’s no added sugar and these fruity flavours are wonderfully refreshing!

Tilda Peri Peri Basmati Rice (RRP £1.59)

You can’t beat a packet of microwavable rice for a quick and easy lunch or dinner, and this bag of Tilda Peri Peri Basmati Rice is suitable for vegans, gluten-free and free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. It has a spicy kick to it and is great with Chicken and Veggie dishes alike.

Grower’s Garden Fresh Broccoli Crisps in Sour Cream & Chive (RRP £1.99)

Next up, I found a large share size bag of Grower’s Garden Fresh Broccoli Crisps in Sour Cream & Chive flavour. That’s right – these crisps are made from 27% fresh Broccoli but they don’t taste like it! Great for those wanting a healthier savoury snack.

Terry’s Orange Minis Exploding Candy

To complete this month’s Degustabox, there are two bags of Terry’s Orange Minis Exploding Candy to munch your way through. These have all the classic taste of mini Terry’s Orange segments with bits of popping candy throughout – yum!
