Designer Box is a company that loves aesthetic interior style and design. Every two months they send out a beautiful item for your home, all made by independent designers and craftspeople using natural and/or recyclable materials.
Subscriptions cost from €19.90 per month, and each item will have a value of at least €90. Each box also contains a design magazine, which includes information about the designer of that month’s item.
November’s theme title is A vos fourneaux! or To your stoves! (The company is French, hence the price in Euros.)
The product for November-December 2019 is created in association with Anne-Sophie Pic, a French chef who is one of the few women to be awarded three Michelin stars. Appropriately enough it is cooking-related.
Presentation is the first indication of style. The ribbon and card is simple but gives a lovely first impression.
This month has a set of four items, as you would expect they are all cooking-related.
First, a beautiful 100% c0tton apron in white and beige.
It’s embroidered
An apron may seem like a simple thing, but the quality of this one really makes it stand out.
The cotton is thick, and the coarser woven beige stripes adds detail to the simplicity. The neck loop is adjustable with poppers, and together with the length of the strings will accommodate any wearer.
It’s nice and long too, I’m 5’5” and it comes below my knees, and comfortably fits my 6’2” husband.
Along with the apron are three accessories.
A herb or vegetable bag, also made from beautiful thick cotton.
A beech wood wooden spoon and spoon rest/mobile stand.
A wooden spoon is one of the most basic and useful of kitchen accessories, and beech is the traditional material being both sturdy and durable.
The holder is very useful for keeping the spoon off the work surface.
And of course you can also use it for your mobile!
And of course the magazine, which is filled with marvellous pieces about Anne-Sophie, cooking, and her aesthetics of cooking.
As an extra bonus you also get two month free subscription to Academie Du Gout, an online chef’s resource full of wonderful recipes and cooking guidance.
