One of the most exciting aspects about reviewing subscription boxes is finding out about the new ones that are emerging onto the market – there really is a subscription box for absolutely everyone! My newest find is called Discover Incense, and as you can guess by the name, is a specialist incense box.
The general concept is based on offering subscribers a ‘guided tour’ through different styles of incense, in all of its wonderful scents and guises. Discover Incense has been designed to appeal to both newbies to incense, as well as incense enthusiasts who are seeking new scents, brands and styles that they may not have come across before. All of the incense included in the Discover Incense boxes is imported from all over the world by a recognised Fair Trade company which is brilliant, and every month there is a different theme.
February sees the first launch box from Discover Incense which is themed New Beginnings and is focused on Indian Style Stick Incense.
Opening up the box, my nose was greeted with the most amazing scents which immediately got me very excited and intrigued for what was inside! I’m a huge fan of incense and regularly burn different scents in my home, so this unique box is something which definitely appeals to me.
On top of the contents, I found a Lokta paper which provides further information about each of the products that Discover Incense has included that month.
Let’s take a closer look at the contents!
Tribal Soul Palo Santo Smudge Sticks
This beautifully packaged set of Tribal Soul Palo Santo Smudge Sticks are inspired by the mystical, forest-like scent of the Palo Santo, commonly known as the ‘Holy Wood’. Made by the Hari Darshan Incense Company in Bangalore, this particular scent is more traditional to South America and has been reimagined here to gain new relevance in the perspective of Indian spirituality. Needless to say, they smell incredible!
Satya Sai Baba Super Hit
Satya Sai Baba has been making high-quality incense since 1964 and is a popular and respected company in the incense business. This Super Hit fragrance has a beautiful floral scent that is quite subtle and has a lovely warm sweetness to it. It’s a good one to burn when you want to feel uplifted and happy.
Nature’s Garden Himalayan Spice
The last set of incense comes from Nature’s Garden, who carefully make all of their incense sticks by hand in Kathmandu, Nepal. Each stick is lovingly placed in a traditional Lokta paper packet, which is then decorated with a hand-pressed Himalayan flower. This scent Himalayan Spice is my favourite in this month’s box and features a complex blend of Himalayan spices that results in a deep and heady fragrance that’s very addictive!
Incense Holder and Thai Flower Tealight
To complete this month’s box, Discover Incense have included two free gifts! One is an Incense Holder which has been handmade in India, and the other is a Thai Flower Tealight that’s been handmade in Northern Thailand and sculpted into a the shape of a beautiful flower.
