I heard a spoiler last month that the latest Geek Gear Harry Potter box would be a tribute to the late great Snape, in memory of both the iconic character in the books and films and of course to Alan Rickman who played the wonderfully acerbic head of Slitherin. I wasn’t disappointed when I opened the box as it was indeed a Snape tribute box with ten Harry Potter goodies all with a nod to the greatest Slitherin character.
One point I do really value about the monthly Harry Potter box is the variety of products inside and also a decent amount of them too. When you decide upon a subscription box to buy, and with the Harry Potter box one so specific, it’s a gamble to know just what will be included every month and also how many items you will receive as well. What I have found with this subscription from Geek Gear is that each month they endeavour to give you variety as well as quantity in their Harry Potter boxes and month on month I have loved the additions.
You can subscribe to the Harry Potter subscription box from Geek Gear for £24.99 for all non subscribers of their sister Geek Gear box and £19.99 if you already subscribe. Every month expect to have 5-10 items of Harry Potter goodies to add to your collection or grow your existing collection. Don’t forget when you set up your profile you can customise your likes and dislikes as far as which Hogwarts houses you like etc and also add your t-shirt size too as every box will have one in.
On to the latest box and first out was the lovely colourful Snape print ready to frame, a perfect piece to add to the wall and what a great vibrant addition on thick quality card. Also included to decorate any bedroom was the Howarts window vinyl sticker with “A Magical Adventure Awaits You – Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry” and the Hogwarts crest in full colour in the center and a silhouette of the school as well. Both these stand out for me as they are so striking and colourful and would brighten up any room.
Next out was the exclusive ‘Always’ drawstring bag a useful bag to have and wrapped so carefully and beautifully too. Also wrapped carefully in a pretty Harry Potter box was another exclusive this time a hand crafted house bookmark, and this is where your personal selection when you subscribed and registered will come in, as you will receive colours from the house of your choice.
Last month’s Harry Potter box had a time turner necklace and this month there was a gold time turner key ring to match. Useful, good looking and ideal for HP fans to use to house all your keys. The platform 9 ¾ patch included in the box is ideal for jackets, bags or whereever you want, I really love this addition but the patch is very thin so needs to be sewn on very carefully. The Wonderful Creations Cookbook For Witches and Wizards by Molly Weasley has 28 jam packed pages full of favourite recipes from the series. From Butterbeer to Jelly Slugs and including a secret recipe from the Weasley family – the choice is yours! My favourite recipe to make has to be the Butterbeer as I loved trying it out at the Warner Bros Studio Tour and wondered just what made the delicious drink.
Included in every box this month as well were two Harry Potter postcards which are ideal for framing (as the Snape print is) with retro colourful graphics and another great tribute to Snape. Lastly in the box another exclusive in the form of a ‘Undesirable No 1 Harry Potter’ t-shirt, in grey with black graphics it stands out and is a perfect addition in this mix of HP goodies. I’ve said it before and I shall say it again I feel that adding a cotton t-shirt to each monthly HP box offers subscribers excellent value for money. So there you have it another monthly Harry Potter box from Geek Gear and it’s been a pleasure to receive, I feel it offers very good value for money and is a HP collectors dream to get this box month on month or as a special gift for a HP fan. If you are wondering what will be in store for the next monthly box Geek Gear have left a little hint of “The Three Broomsticks” so keep your eye out as it proves to be a great one.
