Continuing on from last month’s Hello Summer theme (reviewed here), August’s Glossybox is the second collector’s edition box for Summer and the slogan on the baby blue box says it all – Girls Just Wanna Have Sun!
Everything in this month’s Glossybox has been included to make Summer as beautiful and easy as possible with three full-size products, two travel sizes and a cheeky little freebie. This box is definitely going to be a popular one with all the makeup and hair care fans out there, so shall we take a closer look at the goodies?
Modellauncher Safari Sun Bronzer (full size, RRP £16.50)
First up, I pulled out of the box this ridiculously cute animal print bronzer from Modellauncher. I haven’t heard of this brand before, but how cute this is product?! It’s been designed to be an easy to use bronzer as all you need to do is swirl all the colours together in the pan with a large brush and then buff it into your skin for a golden glow. It’s quite shimmery though, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a holiday friendly bronzer or something special for a beach party.
Valquer Ice Hair Mask Total Repair (100ml travel size – RRP of full size is £14.99)
This is an interesting product as it’s a ‘one of a kind energising hair mask that has a cooling effect’. This cooling effect helps to ‘power up’ the Macadamia Oil in the formula which makes it better at hydrating and taming troublesome hair. I’ve used it twice so far and it makes my hair incredibly soft and shiny afterwards so it gets a big thumbs up from me.
Batiste 2 in 1 Invisible Dry Shampoo & Conditioner in Orange & Pomegranate (50ml travel size – RRP for full size is £4.99)
I’ve used Batiste dry shampoos many times in the past and this innovative 2-in-1 product is another fantastic release from the brand. A few quick spritzes are all that’s needed to instantly freshen up the hair and leave it feeling conditioned and more manageable too. This scent Orange & Pomegranate is really fresh and fruity too and as it comes out invisible, it’s suitable for all hair colours to use. I’ll definitely be buying the full size of this when it runs out!
Rodial Suede Lips in Big Apple (full size, RRP £22)
This is a great lip crayon from Rodial that’s richly pigmented and applies smoothly. It dries down to a mostly matte finish, but feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips thanks to the added Vitamin E in the formula. I received the shade Big Apple which is a beautiful soft berry pink shade – I love it!
Essence Live Laugh Celebrate Palette + 4 Powder Products (full size, RRP £1.50 for the palette & £1.50 per powder)
The fifth product that I received in August’s Glossybox is more like five on its own, as it includes a palette and four separate powder products. These are all from the popular budget beauty brand Essence, and this is their Live Laugh Celebrate Palette which allows you to mix and match the products that you want to fill it up with.
To start you off, Glossybox have included four Essence Powders; 04 It’s My Birthday Longlasting Eyeshadow, 05 TGIF Longlasting Eyeshadow, 01 My Special Highlight Highlighter Powder and 01 Rhythm Of The Night Soft Shimmer Blush. What a cool way to make your own make-up palette?!
Also included was a freebie in the shape of a Purelei Aloha Aloha hair band – thanks Glossybox!
