July’s Glossybox is a like an extension of last month’s ‘Summer Discoveries‘ theme, and contains five beauty products; four of which are full-size products and one is a deluxe travel size sample. All of these products would be perfect for taking with you on holiday, so shall we see what’s inside?Utan and Tone Nourishing Night Creme (25ml deluxe travel size sample worth £12.50)
This was the ‘sneak peek’ product that was featured on last month’s card so I was looking forward to trying it out. Anyone who knows me will be well aware that I’m a big fan of faking a tan and I’m somewhat addicted to testing out anything to do with self-tanning! I haven’t heard of this brand before but they’re on the high-end, more premium side of the price spectrum and they’re also cruelty-free, paraben free and lanolin free.
I’ve tested this out twice so far and I have to say I really like it. It feels like a normal moisturiser (not too thick and not too thin consistency wise) but it’s very hydrating and has a clever gradual tanning ingredient in the formula. I’ve applied it before bed and when I wake up, I have a very subtle tan which then deepens slightly after the next day of using it. Lovely natural looking colour. This is very similar to James Reed’s Sleep Mask Tan and Vita Liberata’s Self-Tanning Moisture Mask, so if you’ve tried any of those before, you’ll get on well with this one.Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss SPF 25 (full-size worth £6.99)
Well isn’t this just summer in a tube?! A great lipgloss to pop into your beach bag as it provides SPF 25 UVA and UVB protection, and gives you a sheer wash of berry goodness on the lips. Feels moisturising on, isn’t sticky and smells wonderfully fruity and tropical. Mmmmmm!Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara in Black (full-size worth £13.04)
As well as being obsessed with self-tanning, I’m a massive mascara junkie and I always enjoy receiving new ones to try in beauty boxes. I haven’t heard of Icona Milano before, but they’re an Italian brand that seems to be popular in Europe. This mascara promises to be completely smudge proof, waterproof, sweat and humidity resistant, and I have to say that I agree. I’ve tested it out during this recent heatwave we’ve had in the UK and it didn’t smudge or flake or anything – it stayed put until I wanted to take it off before bed. Impressive!
Really great formula that defines lashes and adds a bit of volume too. I’ll definitely have to check out more from this makeup brand in the near future.Hairon De-tangling Brush (full-size worth £6.99)
Similar in design to the famous Tangle Teezer (which I love), this brush from Hairon is a smaller, egg shape which has been ergonomically designed to fit into the palm of your hand. It has long and short layered teeth and does an excellent job of detangling wet and dry hair without causing pain or damage as it just glides through. I’ve used it on my very long, always tangled hair and it works very well.Blank Canvas F20 Flat Brush (full-size worth £11.95)
Another brand that are new to me are Blank Canvas and I’m in love with this awesome make-up brush! It has a short, dense head that’s made up of cruelty-free synthetic fibres which are super soft. I’ve used it so far with my mineral foundations and it buffs and blends everything beautifully with no sheddding problems. Very impressed with this one, and a great addition to my growing makeup brush collection.
So there you have it – yet another fab box from Glossybox, full of new brand discoveries and representing excellent value for money!
