Glossybox march 2015 review

[tab title=”March 2014 Review”]

I love surprises. I love post. So what better way to celebrate than with a monthly subscription to a little box of delights?

A monthly (or more) box of joy containing surprises of your choice.
For me this is quickly becoming something of an obsession.

As you may have guessed or already know, Glossybox is a beauty gift box.

You get 5 top beauty products a month with some extras such as discounts off the full sized product or a voucher for a free item, as well as of course, the glossy magazine, which I’ve found to be a very nice touch. There is a different theme every month and the packaging is beautiful.

So this month I received:

  • Mitchell and Peach Body Cream
  • Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish (full size product)
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics LTD Shimmer Product (full size product)
  • Vita Liberata Tan Lotion
  • Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair Shot (full size product)
  • Glossy Box Magazine

On the product explanation card I also received 20% off my next Vita Liberata purchase and a third off Dove products during March at superdrug.com.

Glossybox 3 The Mitchell and Peach body cream was absolutely gorgeous, the smell was beautiful and I was really glad for this handbag essential (there’s definitely not enough there to use for my whole body!) but at £36 for the full sized product, this won’t be something I look at buying until I get a promotion!

Vita Liberata Tan Lotion was unfortunately not at all up my street. I am as pale as Snow White and haven’t the faintest idea how to apply fake tan. This is one of the pit falls of having to beauty profile. I also thought even if i wanted to apply this, I wouldn’t have been able, the two starches wouldn’t have been enough to cover both legs! However, I’m sure for those with fake tan knowledge, this would have been a nice surprise.

Glossybox 4The Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish was my favourite item in this months haul. A lovely little pot with a gorgeous scent and just the right amount of colour for my lips. And goodness me it’s SPF 15 to boot, perfect for my beach days hand bag. Or just to have on my desk at work. The colour is subtle enough to apply without having to look in a mirror, but strong enough that people notice you’re wearing it. A little of this goes a long way. Definitely my product of the month from Glossy Box.

The Bellapierre Cosmetic Shimmer Pot is a versatile little thing. Although it is somewhat like loose glitter, it can be mixed in with blush, lipstick or even nail varnish for a little bit of sparkle with your look. A great night out or dress to impress product, this little pot will last me a long time.

The Dove Hair Treatment was my runner up product in the box this month. I am borderline obsessed with keeping my hair strong and healthy, and the idea that a product is like an intense reboot for my hair can only be a good thing. I will certainly be buying more of these after days in the sun, as it helps hair recover from sun damage. Excellent product that left my hair feeling strong and smelling clean!

Glossybox 5

Overall, the Glossybox can be a bit hit and miss from month to month, but looking collectively at the boxes I have received so far, I would say they were a hit. The full sized products are always great and I even put some aside for gifts.

The cost per month for a Glossybox is £10 plus p&p (£3.75) so is one of the cheapest monthly boxes around. You can pay for various months in one go if you want to save a little money. For the money you pay, the products are good. You always get more in the value of the products than you pay for with the box.

And for a beauty junkie like me it’s ideal, they tend to mix up hair, bath and make up goods which is right up my street.

Glossybox delivers 5 beauty products to your door in a luxurious box every month. If you love treating your face and your body well then you’ll love being able to test out the products before spending big on the full size versions.

They also provide special edition boxes like their wedding box.

Monthly plan: £10 per month plus P&P

3 month plan: £28.50 plus P&P

6 month plan: £54 plus P&P
