This month’s Glossybox doesn’t have a defined theme as such, but it is based around ‘grooming staples’ to help you get a head start with all the seasonal changes that are happening right now. With this in mind, they’ve included some really useful beauty products that you can easily slip into your daily routine, so let’s see what’s inside.
Stylondon Clear Siligel Blender (full-size, RRP £5.99)
If you watch a lot of Youtube makeup tutorials, you’ll no doubt have seen countless vloggers using these silicone based blenders to apply their foundation with, and I have to admit that I’ve been curious to try one for myself. As they’re made from a flexible, solid type of siligel, they won’t absorb your foundation like a sponge or brush does, so you can use a lot less product and they’re also very hygienic and easy to clean afterward. Does it work? I was disappointed with the results to be honest, as it’s difficult to get a very flawless looking finish because the foundation just seems to sit on top of the skin. I think it’s quite gimmicky, but it was interesting to finally try one!
Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer (full-size, RRP £12)
I’m a big fan of Pixi’s makeup and skincare, and as I have unruly brows, this brow tamer was a perfect find in this month’s box. It’s a clear gel that’s easy to sweep across your brows to define, shape and set them for the day. Brilliant stuff and a makeup bag must-have.
MONU Skin Firming Fiji Facial Oil (30ml travel size, full-size retails for £26)
The next product that I picked up was this travel size bottle of facial oil from MONU. It contains a blend of natural plant oils to nourish and protect the skin, and also features essential oils of Bois de Rose and Patchouli to calm, firm and leave skin looking visibly brighter. I’ve tried it about three times so far and I really like it. It smells gorgeous and you only need to use 1-2 drops each time, so this bottle will last a long, long time!
Taylor’s 32 Classic Mint Natural Whitening Toothpaste (full-size, RRP £5)
Developed by dentists, this all-natural toothpaste has been specially formulated with Sodium Bicarbonate and Silica to help remove stains naturally, alongside Xylitol, Fluoride and Vitamin E to reduce plaque and maintain healthy gums. It tastes really nice and minty, so I’m looking forward to seeing if the whitening claims progress the longer I use it.
Skinfix Hand Repair Cream (full-size, RRP £12.99)
As the colder months are approaching, hand cream becomes even more important, especially as my skin is very dry. This one from Skinfix contains 1% Colloidal Oatmeal to target eczema, dermatitis, and extreme dryness, whilst an expert blend of healing botanicals, rich natural butters, and emollient oils deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. This is something that I’ll be using on a regular basis!
Glossybox have also included a sweet little extra item this month – a Kinder Bueno! Yum!
