One of the most exciting eco-friendly boxes to have launched recently is GreenEcoBox and their boxes are proving to be some of my favourites to open up and review – they are such a delight to receive! Working with more than 70 artisans from all over the UK and Europe to bring their subscribers a selection of exciting products which are good for you and the planet, GreenEcoBox currently offer two types of monthly boxes; a Beauty In The Box which is focused on beauty and toiletries and the Bee Happy Box which is a mixed lifestyle box.
It’s worth noting that for every Bee Happy box that is sold, GreenEcoBox will donate £4.50 to Greenpeace and they will also plant a tree in Haiti on your behalf (by OneTreePlanted), plus you’ll receive a certificate of proof for this in your box which is a really nice touch.
I recently received this month’s Bee Happy Box from them and couldn’t wait to see what was inside – let’s take a look!
L’Epicerie de Provence Peach Syrup
With summer on the way, my thoughts are turning to delicious cocktails in the sun, so this bottle of Peach Syrup from French artisans L’Epicerie de Provence is going to be popular! It’s a truly scrumptious syrup, full of natural Peach flavour, and it can be used in many ways such as a topping for ice creams, crepes, porridge, fruit salads, cottage cheese, yoghurt, cakes etc, as well as a brilliant addition to any fruity cocktail.
Carla Pure Emotion I Love You Raspberry Champagne Jam
Another French artisan speciality is this delightful jar of Raspberry Jam from Carla. Created in small quantities and using only the finest fruits and natural ingredients, this jam contains much less sugar than the ones that you would find on your nearest supermarket shelf, and it tastes so much better for it. Absolutely delicious on scones!
Gutding Bro Cashew-Olive Paste
I wasn’t quite sure what this was at first, so it was handy to have GreenEcoBox’s info leaflet to refer to. It’s handmade in Germany by the organic artisans Gutding, and is an interesting ‘Cashew-Olive Paste’, which is a smooth blend of Olives, Tomatoes, Cashews, Fresh Rosemary and Basil. It’s vegan-friendly, contains no gluten or added sugar, and can be eaten as part of Tapas, spread onto crackers and stirred through pasta. Surprisingly tasty and unlike anything I’ve tried before – yum!
Savonnerie Aubergine Soap L’amandier
Handmade in France by the famous traditional soap company Savonnerie Aubergine, this biodegradable soap contains a blend of cold saponified natural oils that include Olive, Sweet Almond and Coconut, as well as Raw Shea Butter, Glycerin, Orange, Palmarosa and Calendula petals. All of the ingredients are organic and vegan, and it’s free from palm oil and preservatives. Perfect for dry, sensitive and normal skin types.
Original Beans Grand Cru Blend No. 1 & Edel Weiss Chocolate Bars
Saving the very best to last, these two bars of chocolate from the Dutch artisans’ Original Beans are incredible! Founded on an ethical passion to make the finest chocolate, but without harming the environment, Original Beans works hard to protect endangered wildlife in the countries that it sources its cocoa beans from, makes sure farmers incomes are tripled, use only certified garden-compostable packaging for their bars, and is proud to have built up one of the first climate-positive supply chains in the chocolate industry – wow! It seems like their passion has made their chocolate even more flavourful and moreish, as I thoroughly enjoyed both of these bars. Oh, and they also plant a tree for every bar sold!
To finish off the box, GreenEcoBox has included some extras; an organic Spelt Yoghurt Plumcake, a shower gel sample from Creamy Stuff Switzerland and mini fairtrade French chocolates from Valrhona.
