All cat owners love their pets, and love to treat them (even if they aren’t big on gratitude!). Gus & Bella is a lovely cat-themed subscription box which not only provide treats for our kitties, but for their owners too!
The presentation is always lovely, nicely wrapped with the cute sticker, and inside there’s a menu leaflet that tells you about the items in the box.
This month’s theme is Cat Types, as there is a huge variety of breeds and personality types, so this is a cute way to celebrate them!
First up, the treats for cats. This month we have three lots of food to try. There are two pouches of Harringtons cat food. This is a lovely quality brand, made from actual meat, natural ingredients, and completely grain free, because cats have not evolved to eat grains! This is a favourite brand for my rather fussy cat. There is also a tin of Scrumbles Chicken in Jelly, which is another excellent natural brand. No fillers, sugar, or any other rubbish that cats’ tummies don’t like.
For playtime there is a Valerian Coffee Cat Toy. No, it doesn’t contain coffee, that’s the design! Valerian smells less than lovely to humans, but cats like it very much, and it can also help with stress and anxiety.
There’s also something that is arguably more for people than cats here: a package of Scrumbles Compostable Poop Bags. You might think of poop bags as being something for dogs, but lots of cats like to do their business outside, especially when the weather is warmer – even my mostly house cat does! These make it much easier to collect and dispose of. And even if you have a littler tray, it’s the least messy way to deal with those daily offerings.
Moving on to people treats, there’s a yummy bar of Dark & Pink Salt Luxury Halo Chocolate. This is an excellent brand, vegan, organic, ethically produced, and no refined sugar. And if you haven;t tried salted chocolate, you really should! There are also two cute Gift Cards. These blank greeting cards are perfect for any occasion, and the designs show lots of different breeds too.
Now these two items are properly lovely. First there’s a Mason Cash Stoneware Cat Bowl. The menu booklet says technically this is part of the ‘cat treat’ side of the goodies, but I personally think it’s so nice it can be used for either cat or owner. It’s a great size for cat food, but it’s also a lovely snack plate too. So really, you can choose who gets to use it! Mason Cash is a terrific brand, well known for their lovely ceramic mixing bowls.
There’s also Silicone Premium Oven Gloves.
This excellent double oven glove is not only thick, but the hand portion has a protective and nonslip silicone covering. It’s also a mitten shape, which is much more convenient and better for grip than the pouch-like ones you often see. The adorable cat design has been specially created for Gus & Bella! It’s a perfect kitchen accessory.
