This new trend of subscription boxes fitting through my letter box and sparing me a trip to the post office every other weekend? I’m all over it. And so, it seems, is Happy Paper Club, which landed adorably through my letterbox at lightning speed after my order.
Presentation isn’t the be all and end all of subscription boxes because technically what really counts are the contents but isn’t this rustic ‘Happy Post’ tape that adorns the #HappyPaperClub box just the cutest? It just made me look forward to the contents even more, they were pretty much guaranteed to be in great taste now!
Before I talk a little about the pretty contents of the box, I think it’s worth talking about the Green Gables, the company that creates this monthly slice of paper goodness. All of their products are printed on recycled paper in the UK and they donate 10% of their annual profits to charity. If you’re a subscriber to the box you also get a 10% discount on all products at the Green Gables!
The boxes contain a mix of the Green Gables products, plus exciting new elements exclusive to the Happy Paper Club box. March’s (launch!) box contained:
- An A5 notebook with simple dragonfly and leaf designs
- Set of 6 postcards, each with a colourful word such as ‘laugh’, ‘cheers’ and ‘ahoy’
- A6 notepad for jotting down notes
- 8 ‘Make Me’ notecards on a heavy card stock which have various uses but seem great for recipes
- Mini ‘Enjoy Life’ inspirational print
Together, the products felt like they fit together as a collection and I loved that there was variety in the types of products in the box.
The inspirational mini print was a sweet little addition, but it felt a little like it may have been produced at home on a decent printer. Having said that, the other products all felt professionally made and very sturdy. There should be none of the stigma that once accompanied recycled paper goods – these are all pretty pieces with clean lines and great for everyday use! I was particularly impressed with the quality of the little notepad which took up a spot in my kitchen pretty much immediately :)
There was also a little extra in this month’s box which I’m sure families would love – a paper doll cut out kit from Clara & Macy!
The style was very in keeping with the Green Gables brand – simple designs, lots of white space and clean lines, so I’m curious to see if future boxes stick to this style or branch out a little more for variety! All in all the Happy Paper Club definitely does what it sets out to do: not only add some paper goodness to your day but also put a smile on your face.
