The Hound Haus has the most wonderful business model which serves a far greater purpose than just a monthly subscription boxes. They not only offer tasty treat boxes for you and your dog, but also with every purchase you make they provide special boxes full of dog essentials to homeless or struggling dog owners. The packs are distributed through their Helping Hounds project where dog owners are also given vet advice and referral opportunities, mental health support and advice on housing and work options available to them.
Their support boxes not only means that the dog can be provided for, but can also relieve a considerable amount of stress from both the dog and its owner’s lives. In demanding financial situations knowing their dog is being cared for can make a big difference.
This month’s selection included a vast array of lovely treats and toys which had my pupster’s tails wagging with glee. I was really impressed by the amount of products and high-quality brands included.
Kong Braidz – Giraffe
This was a big hit with the doggies in my household. They could barely wait for me to cut the tag off. KONG is a fantastic and well-known brand for dog toys so I knew immediately this would be a great quality product.
STAGbar
I was delighted to see this included in this month’s box. My little Simba had one of these STAGbars a couple of years ago and he loved it. Sadly, after moving house we somehow lost it in the turmoil, so he was delighted to get his paws on a new one! These are excellent chews for dogs and super long lasting, meaning hours of entertainment. Plus it’s 100% natural, so absolutely no nasties!
Doggy Sunstick SPF 15
This made me chuckle when I saw it. I had never really thought about using sunscreen on a dog before but it actually makes sense. My little Chihuahua is blond so I wouldn’t be surprised if his skin is susceptible to getting burnt. Now we just need some sun so I can try this out on him!
Hound Haus Poo Bag Carrier
You can never have too many of these. It is the constant bane of any dog owner’s life, not having a poo bag to hand at the required moment. With this attached to your pup’s leash hopefully you’ll never have to suffer that again!
Country Hunter – Rabbit with Cranberry Snacks
These went down an absolute treat! These snacks are freeze-dried meat nuggets which are full of superfoods. If you like your dog to follow a raw inspired diet these are perfect, especially if your dog suffers from any allergies. They’re also grain free and low fat.
Sushi Rolls
How fun are these? As you can see this caught Simba’s attention immediately. Fish snacks are usually high in Omega 3 which is great for skin, coat, eyes and even brain development. The only small flaw is they can give my pups bad wind(!) but other than that they love them and I can give them in full confidence they’re getting plenty of goodness.
I’m still not sure what these are yet but they smell pretty strong. I’ve avoided giving these to my doggies as I won’t give them anything I can’t account for. The only thing this box is missing is a leaflet with a guide as to what each product is and a little blurb about them. Past dog themed subscription boxes I’ve tried usually have this and its proved very useful.
