Enjoy a high-quality G&T at home? If so, you must check out I Love Gin, a monthly subscription box that sends you two mini bottles of artisan/premium gin, alongside two bottles of tonics/mixers, straight to your door. All you need to do is add ice and pour into your favourite glasses! Each I Love Gin box makes up to four G&Ts, so there’s plenty to sample and it’s a fantastic way to discover new gins.
This month’s I Love Gin is themed The Winter Wonderland Box and I found the following products inside:-
- Peaky Blinder Spiced Dry Gin (5oml)
- Aber Falls Orange Marmalade Gin (50ml)
- 2 x Regency Tonic Waters (200ml each)
Peaker Blinder Spiced Dry Gin (40% vol)
Inspired by The Peaky Blinders who have become popularised recently with the famous TV show, Sadler’s have developed a gin that’s true to its namesake as it has a punchy kick to it! The Sadler family have been making fine beers and spirits in the heart of the Black Country since 1900, and with over a century’s worth of knowledge, they know a thing or two about making fantastic gins. This one features notes of Orange, Oak, Coffee, Ginger, Black Pepper, Juniper and Eucalyptus for an exceptional flavour that makes a mean G&T!
Aber Falls Orange Marmalade Gin (41.3% vol)
Aber Falls Distillery is the first of its kind in North Wales for more than 100 years and this brand new release has just been added to its range of premium small-batch spirits. Made using local botanicals and Welsh water from around Aber Falls, this copper pot distilled gin has a beautiful refined quality to it. Winner of the Silver Medal in this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition, this Orange Marmalade Gin is wonderfully fruity for a Christmassy G&T, but the juniper still remains dominant for a nice and strong flavour.
Regency Tonic Premium English Tonic Waters
To accompany this month’s selection of gins, there are two bottles of Regency Tonic Premium English Tonic Waters to enjoy with them. Founded in Sussex back in 2016, these tonics were created by two gin loving friends who were disappointed by the mainstream tonic waters that they were using, so they made their own! The end result is a very dry, low sugar tonic water that complements, rather than overpowers, the spirits that they are mixed with. A fine choice indeed!
As an extra freebie this month, I found a packet of Whitworths Shots in Berry & White Chocolate – yum!
