What’s an apéritif? You might know it as a drink served before a meal to whet your appetite.
Well, it is, but it’s so much more, too. In France, an apéritif is a convivial, casual evening get-together best served with some of your friends, snacks – and washed down with a glass or two of good wine.
So, who better to introduce the concept of the apéritif to London than Le Petit Ballon, the subscription box that delivers French wine directly to your doorstep each month?
Next Tuesday, Le Petit Ballon is teaming up with fellow Frenchies and purveyors of Gallic burgers, Big Fernand, to host its very first apéritif this side of the Channel. You heard that right: burgers and wine – what’s not to love?
For this first event, Le Petit Ballon is pulling out all the stops with an extra-special line-up. Master Sommelier Jean-Michel Deluc, who carefully selects the wines for each month’s box, will be hosting an exclusive wine tasting. Formerly Sommelier at the Ritz in Paris, Jean-Michel clearly has a nose for this – so, we think there will definitely be a few pointers to take away from this one!
To accompany the wine (and line your stomachs!), there will be treats from Big Fernand, so you can try one of their trademark hamburgés whilst sipping original wines. What’s more, there will be prizes and giveaways – including the chance to win a one year subscription to Le Petit Ballon!
The icing on top? Le Petit Ballon is offering you the first glass of wine, and entry is free and open to all. Tell your friends you’ve got Tuesday evening sorted!
Save the date: 19:00 on Tuesday 19 April 2016 at Big Fernand in Fitzrovia, London. For more information, check out Le Petit Ballon’s Facebook event.
