LifeBox is a monthly collection of natural snacks, drinks and ingredients to support a healthy lifestyle. All items in the Lifebox Classic are vegan, and gluten and dairy free. It costs from £22.95 per month, including postage.
This box is the Energy version, which is designed to support activity and recovery for both men & women. There might be occasional items which are not vegan in this version of the box, but it’s very rare.
Sometimes there are fragile items, so the box itself is delivered in an outer shipping box. Fortunately all the packaging is recyclable!
Everything is presented nicely in tissue, which is pretty enough to reuse.
You’ve got a menu card listing all the items, and also a recipe booklet.
You get several lovely vegan recipes, some of which use items in the box. This is a great bonus especially if you want inspiration for cooking with less meat.
This is a lovely treat, Abakus Red Dates Stuffed with Cashews. Red dates are also called jujube fruit, and they are sweet and lovely, with also a big hit of Vitamin D! Combined with creamy cashews they work perfectly, and don’t taste like a healthy treat at all!
More nuts, this time Borna Chinese 5 Spice Flavoured Pistachios. Pistachios are delicious, and their flavour works very well with the 5 spice blend, and are definitely more interesting than plain nuts!
Another healthy sweet treat, Brave Chocolate and Roasted Caramel Roasted Peas. These are crunchy and moreish, but actually have a pretty impressive nutritional profile, not least because they have a pleasing 5g of protein. Becuase the peas are small it actually takes ages to get through the bag, so it feels like you’re eating a lot more than you really are!
Oh, wow, this Broma Raw Chocolate Sauce is incredible! No refined sugar, raw cacao, this is rich and chocolaty and perfect for ice cream or making chocolate milk. Chocolate sauce has never been so guilt free! This is a real find.
Candy Kittens Gourmet Sweets are not exactly healthy, but they’re vegan, gluten free, and made from natural ingredients. And these sour ones are seriously sour! Plus the super cute packaging is extremely appealing.
These little breakfast pots are very useful when you’re on the go or staying away from home. Chescots Super Gut Porridge is high in fibre and taste, using tasty freeze dried fruit. It’s super easy to use, add hot water for ready to eat, or cold milk for overnight oats. Tasty and great for gut health! All the packaging is recyclable too.
Chewsy Plastic Free Gum is a sugar free gum that is sweetened with xylitol so it’s genuinely healthy for you teeth! It’s also completely plant based, a chicle gum, which means it’s plastic free and biodegradable, the only gum to be so. This is terrific and sustainable, and I’m sure a lot of people will be very keen on this, especially as we’re trying to reduce plastic waste! On a personal level, I think cinnamon gum is quite a controversial favour and I’m not a fan, but it’s still great to discover such an eco-friendly product.
Clearspring Roasted Roganic Soya Beans are perfect when you want a savory crunchy hit of something! Very moreish too.
Karma Bites Popped Lotus Seeds are a really fantastic and unusual alternative to popcorn or crisps. These are wasabi flavoured, which I love, but you can still taste that the actual seeds have some flavour to them, rather than just a generic crunchy base.
A generous bag of Taka Golden Tea. This has a warm spiced flavour and is a delicious alternative to regular tea, with all the anti inflammatory benefits of turmeric.
This is a little pot of delicious Nutty Nibbles, which are like lovely fruity energy balls with fruit, nuts, and seeds. These are Coconut Blueberry variety, and not only are they very tasty, they dye your tongue an impressive shade of blue!
Finally, a We Made Limeade. We Made drinks contain only natural ingredients, sweetened with stevia to keep the calories down, and this is just like a lime version of traditional still lemonade. Perfect for sipping on a hot day!
