LifeBox is a monthly collection of natural snacks, drinks and ingredients to support a healthy lifestyle. All items in the Lifebox Classic are vegan, and gluten and dairy free. It costs from £22.95 per month, including postage.
This box is the Energy version, which is designed to support activity and recovery for both men & women. There might be occasional items which are not vegan in this version of the box, but it’s very rare.
The main box is sent inside a shipping box, all fully recyclable.
The presentation is lovely. All the items are contained in tissue, which is nice enough to reuse. There’s a menu card, which lists each item in the box, plus a recipe booklet.
The recipes are all vegan and wholefood-based, and some of them even use items from the box.
The non-food item this month is an Aromastick Organic Natural Inhaler. This company does a range of inhalers that give you a mood boost using various aromas. They have both calm and refreshing varieties, and mine is Refresh which gives you a lift as well as freshens up a stuffy nose.
I’ve had a look at the whole range, and I really like this idea, it’s like portable aromatherapy! The stick lasts for six months too, and will be especially useful in winter.
Cindy’s Tea Botanical Tea Minty Spice Sencha is a loose leaf blend of green tea and aromatics. Green tea is well known for its health benefits, and the combination with fragrant herbs makes for a nice robust and lightly spiced brew, and a tasty alternative to plain green tea.
These Mimselicious Millionaire Bites are a proper indulgent treat! You get all the sweet goodieness of a Millionaire Shortbread with less of the guilt. This version is vegan and wholefood-based, and is also naturally gluten free.
Mindful Bites Nut Butter-Filled Crunchy Bites are one of the nicest sweet/savory snacks I’ve tried! It’s a gluten free wafer filled with cashew butter with baobab, yacon, and lucuma, which ad a wonderful depth of flavor. Really very delicious, I could definitely eat these again!
I’m very familiar with Peppersmith Sugar Free Mints. These fantastic mints are sweetened with xylitol, which means they’re actually good for your teeth. This sweetener is very low in calories but with none of the awfulness of artificial sweeteners. These Extra Strong Mints are properly strong too, and highly recommended, a great addition to this month’s box!
Protein Ball Co. Vegan Protein Balls are a very handy snack to have on the go. They’ve got a decent amount of protein per serving, and of course are completely vegan and gluten free, and great for a ‘clean eating’ program too.
Another portable snack, the Pulsin Protein Booster is the perfect sweet mouthful to keep you going on a busy day, Caramel Choc and Peanut flavour tastes lovely and indulgent too.
I’m also familiar with Raw &Wild Pili Nuts which are some of the most delicious nuts ever. They are really quite remarkable, tasting like nothing else, both crunchy and creamy at the same time. They only grow in one place and are picked and processed by hand. These are also activated, wich means they are soaked and then dried to remove gut-irritating enzymes.
Rude Health Almond Drink is ideal for anyone who doesn’t consume dairy milk. It’s unsweetened with no added thickener, so an excellent whole food alternative.
Another Rude Health product, this time a snack, Chickpea and Lentil Cornitas. These crunchy snacks have simple ingredients, no artificial additives, and a healthier and tasty alternative to fried tortilla chips.
There’s nothing like a bar of chocolate, and Seed and Bean Sweet Orange and Thyme Chocolate Bar is a wonderfully fragrant option. As well as being free of artificial additives and palm oil, the packaging is even compostable! Tasty and ethical!
Spoons Of Taste Feel Good Bites are another all-natural snack, and are free from most allergens. These sweet treats taste wonderfully indulgent but are made from simple ingredients, and are also vegan.
Finally, Virtue Sparkling Energy Water is a great alternative to a cup of coffee, and a welcome natural change from the usual chemical-laced energy drinks! The caffeine is from gurana, gerba mate, and ginseng, and this is a lovely refreshing way to get that extra hit of energy. No calories and no sweeteners, it has a lovely delicate citrus flavour.
I’m really happy to have both familiar and new products in this month’s box.
I love getting the pili nuts because they are such a delicious treat, and the almond milk drink is perfect for my dairy-free husband.
The sweet snacks are very useful to have on hand when you’re craving something sweet and don’t want to be tempted by a junk food, and even the chocolate has excellent ethical and flavour credentials!
