My Little Box – April 2017: Garden

Although it currently feels like Winter outside thanks to a cold snap in the UK this week, it is, in fact, actually April and there will hopefully be some more sun and warmer weather on the way soon! Which is good news for My Little Box subscribers because this month’s box is packed full of beauty, fashion/accessories, and lifestyle products to get you in the mood for Spring.

The overall theme for April is Garden, which is perfect for me as I’m currently in the process of trying to plant some fruit and vegetables at the bottom of my own garden, so this month’s box has definitely got me inspired to be more green fingered!

So let’s take a closer look at the contents, shall we?Garden To Table Poster by Kanako

Instead of the usual Kanako illustration print, April’s box contains a really useful ‘Garden To Table’ poster which tells you what fruits and vegetables are in season, month by month, and has some cute illustrations around it. I’m very tempted to see if I can get a frame to put this in, to display it in my kitchen as I’m trying to make more of a conscious effort to eat local seasonal food so this would be a fantastic reminder for me!

Magnetic Shopping List

Another kitchen friendly item is this handy magnetic shopping list that features a range of healthy recipes (for things like smoothies, acai smoothie bowls, detox drinks and gluten-free granola etc) on the top, and underneath those there are some blank lined pages for you to jot down what you need to pick up from the supermarket/farmer’s market that week. As I live in a houseshare, we’re always running out of various essentials, so this will certainly come in useful to keep track of what we need to repurchase.The Wear-It-Your-Way Scarf

I always love the fashion accessories that My Little Box include and this ‘Wear-It-Your-Way’ square scarf is really cute. As the name suggests, it can be worn in multiple ways for different styles, and it comes with an illustration that shows you six different ways that you can use it. I think it looks pretty cool as a short necktie/scarf (very Parisian of course!) or tied to your handbag to make it more ‘Spring’. Fruitshake Bottle

Keeping with the healthy vibe, this Fruitshake Bottle is great for taking to work or Uni/College, as well as popping into your gym bag to keep you hydrated after a workout session. Inside the bottle is a diffuser compartment where you can add things like fruit (lemons, limes, cucumbers, strawberries and blueberries work really well), fresh mint leaves or even a chunk of ginger, and the diffuser will then gently flavour your plain water for a more refreshing and revitalising drink.Ape Crispy & Crunchy Coconut Bites

I’ve had these before and they’re delicious! They’re basically all-natural, baked coconut pieces that are formed into round ‘crisps’ with a lovely and satisfying crunch to them. A great healthy alternative to actual crisps as they’re high in fibre, gluten-free, contain no added sugar and are classed as 1 of your 5 a day. Perfect for handbags as a snack on the go!Inside this month’s cotton drawstring bag I found three beauty products:-

Mixa Restoring Body Lotion (250ml)

I haven’t heard of this brand before, but they’re a dermo-cosmetic brand created by a French apothecary which creates specialised formulas for those with dry skin. I have very dry skin, so I’m always open to trying out new body moisturisers and this Restoring Body Lotion is suitable for sensitive skin, as well as very dry skin types. It feels quite light on the skin and absorbs quickly without any greasy or sticking feeling, so I like it a lot and the convenient pump applicator saves you a lot of time in the morning!

My Little Beauty Vitamin Shot Facial Scrub (75ml)

From My Little Box’s own brand My Little Beauty, there are two products this month including this Vitamin Shot Facial Scrub. It’s made with Bamboo extract, Apricot seed powder and Argan Oil to gently exfoliate the skin and help reveal a brighter and clearer complexion.

My Little Beauty Illuminating Moisturiser for Legs (75ml)

This is a moisturising gradual tanner for legs, although I imagine it would be perfectly fine to use this on your arms and the rest of your body as well! I’ve used it twice since receiving the box last week and it gives you a very subtle light glow/tan that looks very natural.
