Hopping across the pond to the States, the theme of October’s My Little Box throws the spotlight onto the hip and happening Brooklyn district in New York. It shows an unusual change for My Little Box, who typically champion all things French, but Francophiles need not despair as there’s still plenty of Parisian chic running through this month’s box. In fact, this cross-international theme brings you the best of both worlds and provides the perfect excuse to introduce their subscribers to some new products. On top of the boxes’ contents was the monthly My Little World magazine, which includes interviews with interior and fashion designers, a comparison between Brooklyn and Paris, tutorials on different nail shapes, a Brooklyn-themed fashion editorial, one minute recipes that you can cook in a mug, and a special on the top six best superfoods. I always enjoy having a good flick through this and I wish all of the other beauty boxes would include a proper little magazine like this!
Onto the contents, there are two lifestyle items, two fashion accessories, and three beauty products:-Coffee Cup Leaf Stencil (worth £1)
The coolest way to make your morning coffee Instagram-worthy, this cute stencil fits over any coffee cup. Just sprinkle a little cocoa powder over the top and voila! I’ve always wanted one of these and I’ve been making pretty coffees left, right and center since it arrived.Coffee Mug (worth £10)
To go with your stencil, My Little Box have also included a coffee mug with the slogan ‘Coffee Made Me Do It’. It’s made from a lightweight, tin type of material, and although I don’t think it’s really worth £10, it is a nice way to illustrate the famous hipster coffee shops in Brooklyn.Art Deco and Donut Pins/Badges (worth £6)
Brooklyn is often described as the ‘real’ fashionable side of New York, with a strong sense of a youthful street style running throughout the area. These pins are super cute, and I love how the rose gold and green diamond, vintage-inspired ones can be worn on your collar. And who doesn’t love donuts?!My Little Beauty Save My Nails Strengthener Treatment (worth £7)
Opening up the makeup print drawstring bag, I find three beauty products and the first one that I pulled out was from My Little Box’s own brand range, My Little Beauty. I’ve been impressed by most of the My Little Beauty products from previous boxes, so I’m looking forward to trying out their nail strengthening treatment. My nails could definitely use some of this right now!Sephora Gel Gloss Ultra Brilliant Ultra Shine Lip Gel (worth £4)
With the news of Sephora’s return to the UK, I’ve been excitedly looking at their website in anticipation, so I was thrilled to receive a mini Ultra Shine Lip Gel from Sephora in this month’s box. I got the shade Pin Up Pink which is a bright, but easy to wear sheer pink. Great size to pop into your handbag too.By Terry Terrybly Crayon Kohl Eye Pencil (worth £24)
Saving the very best to last, the star of the box for me, was this full-size eye pencil from luxury French brand, By Terry (who I’m a bit obsessed with!) worth a whopping £24. I received the shade Gold Ornament which is a beautiful, straight-up gold liner that looks perfect for all those upcoming Christmas parties. It’s a waterproof formula, goes on smoothly and lasts well on the waterline – win win!
Another great box from My Little Box!
