Little-Known Box is new to me and as a beauty box obsessive I was keen to see what it was like and I can tell you right from the off I wasn’t disappointed. This luxury styled beauty box promises to give you 5-6 beauty products to try out every month, and not just beauty either as makeup, haircare, lifestyle and even nail care products will feature too. A lot of thought and care has gone into curating and designing the beauty box and this really comes across with some easily recognisable brands and new brands to try and of course some little-known brands to discover. A great way to discover innovative emerging brands and find some new favourites as well as getting beauty treats from your favourite trusted brands.
How Much Is The Little-Known Box Box?
It’s £14.95 including p&p to purchase as a subscription or as a one off box.
Which Products Were In This Month’s Beauty Box?
1. Bardou Immaculate Spray Dry Shampoo Full Size 200ml £12.00
First out was the Bardou Immaculate Spray Dry Shampoo Full Size 200ml and it was great to see a luxury haircare product in this month’s box which works so well. The packaging is sleek and striking and would look stylish on any dressing table and it was really good to have the full sized product in the box. If you are a connoisseur of dry shampoo you will know that not all have the same effect and they really differ in quality. The main object is to refresh in between washes but also to help with styling as well. After using this beauty from Bardou I really noticed a difference from others I have used, as after applying and working through the hair it felt lovely, was easy to style afterward and the scent was fresh and clean.
Don’t expect the telltale ‘white’ hair when you apply either as it is very lightly coloured (white) and as you spray onto the roots you can work it through really easily. The light fragrance of the dry shampoo reminds me of the scent you get from a professional hair salon experience and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a dry shampoo which works so well and smells amazing.
2. PHB Ethical Beauty Natural Black Eyeliner Full Size £8.95
Having won a gold award at the Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2014 this makeup bag favourite was always going to be special and what cosmetic bag is complete without a great quality black eyeliner? Applying the 100% natural black eyeliner is easy with no dragging or pulling as the texture is creamy and smooth. Paired with a waterproof and smudge-proof formula, suitable for sensitive eyes, no animal derived ingredients, no harmful chemicals and no palm oil it really ticks all the boxes. It gets even better with 20% of each sale of the handmade eyeliner going to charity. I loved the results and for £8.95 it offers fantastic value for money and after using I can see why it won a beauty award.
3. GlitterEyes Pressed Glitter Full Size £5.99
A waterproof easy to apply pressed glitter ideal for getting your eyes noticed! The glitter needs no glue to adhere to the eyelid and surprisingly it stays on really well, you can add a little for a subtle look or for a more dramatic look keep pressing it on to add more. Once on it doesn’t feel uncomfortable at at all and it was very easy to remove as well, unlike other glitter eyeshadows I have tried. I love the shade and the high sparkle it’s a winner at under £6 and great to know there are 30 shades to choose from too.
4. Fairypants Peach Bellini Vegan Lipbalm £3.99
With 20 flavours to choose from of this vegan lip balm you’d be spoiled for choice, the scent of the Peach Bellini is very fruity and subtle and it gives a soft, nourished feel to the lips. As you apply the lip balm it ‘melts’ with the heat of your fingers and makes it really easy to apply, it’s not sticky either and feels lovely on. After using consistently for over a week I found it helped nourish and soften my lips and is very hydrating, also it lasts on the lips for some time between applying
5. Amygdala Beauty Solid Fragrance Iris £8.00
Lastly in the beauty box was this beautifully scented solid fragrance, small enough to carry around with you during the day in your handbag to refresh your fragrance. The scent is floral and beautiful (Iris) and as you apply it the balm like texture melts with the heat of your fingers so you can apply wherever you like. It’s so easy to use and the scent is delicate and fresh and lasts well and I love the fact it’s small enough to pop in your handbag too. With a natural base to the solid fragrance as well as being alcohol free it certainly is one to try.
So there you have it my first glimpse at the Little Known Box and it’s a total winner, all useable products which I have enjoyed trying out. I like the mix of beauty and hair products and it is certainly a box I would subscribe to and if this is an indication of what’s to come in future boxes then I am well an truly hooked!
