I’ve reviewed quite the amazing limited edition LookFantastic boxes for a while and I also review their monthly boxes, all of which I love. However, their advent calendar is the most exciting delivery! I reviewed their advent calendar last year and adored it so I was very excited when their 2019 advent calendar arrived!
The advent calendar contains a selection of makeup, hair, body and skincare products from a variety of brands including: Caudalie, Living Proof, Sleek Makeup, Rodial, Emma Hardie and more. The advent calendar can be purchased for £79 but the value of the products combined totals over £420 which is amazing.
Morphe 9A Palette
Let’s start with the makeup products in the box and the first is a gorgeous eyeshadow palette from Morphe. It’s a brand I’ve wanted to try for a while, especially their eyeshadow palettes which always receive great reviews. It contains a beautiful selection of warm autumn toned shadows that I cannot wait to fully try.
Delilah Cosmetics Eye Brow Pencil
I’m always on the look out for new brow products to try so I was excited to find a brow pencil within the advent calendar. I have the shade ‘sable’ which is an ash brown that matches my brow shade perfectly. I love the product packaging, the shade and the brush on the other end which makes it ideal for travelling.
Luxie Beauty Brushes – 121 and 141
Makeup brushes were included in last years calendar and I’m glad they have made an appearance again. I haven’t tried Luxie Beauty brushes but I love the design, the bristles are so soft and both eyeshadow brushes are very versatile. I love the smaller brush for pin point concealing and the larger brush for blending eyeshadow and concealer.
Illamasqua Lip Liner – Raw
Illamasqua used to be one of my favourite brands years ago but I haven’t tried anything from them for a while. I love their products especially their huge shade selection! The lip liner is a perfect everyday casual shade.
Sleek Makeup Highlighting Palette – Solstice
Another brand I used to adore is Sleek Makeup, in particular, their amazing value eyeshadow palettes. The highlighting palette contains powder highlighters and a cream highlighter. I love the packaging and the lighter shades are so pretty but the two darker shades aren’t really suitable for my ghostly pale skin.
Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paint
The penultimate makeup item is a liquid lipstick in the shade Tehran which is a pretty brown nude shade. The formula is smooth, it doesn’t make the lips feel caky or tacky and unlike most matte liquid lipsticks, it feels comfortable. It’s an ideal everyday shade that lasts well!
Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara
I recently went through laser eye surgery and I’ve had to get rid of all my mascaras and liners so I’m happy to try more. The Eyeko mascara claims to provide volumised lashes with no smudges, crumbling or flaking. It’s a great mascara and I love the packaging.
Bioeffect EGF Serum
Now onto the skincare products which make up the largest proportion of the advent calendar contents. I love serums and this one sounds fantastic! It uses a plant based replica of a naturally occurring human protein to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a very expensive serum so I hope my skin doesn’t love it too much!
Filorga Meso-Mask
The advent calendar contains quite a few brands I haven’t tried before and one of them is Filorga. The mask claims to enhance the skin’s natural radiance and reduce fine lines. I love face masks and I’m glad that there’s one within the box – I like the variety of skincare items in the advent calendar this year.
Caudalie Vinopure Toner
One of my favourite skincare brands is Caudalie – I love French skincare! Caudalie make some of my favourite skincare products such as the vinosource sorbet and serum. I have tried quite a few of their products but I haven’t tried one of their toners before. The toner is fantastic and great for my now combination skin.
Avant Skincare Treatment
As well as the mask, there’s also an overnight treatment within the advent calendar that claims to give the appearance of youthful skin with it’s anti-oxidant formula. It’s advised to be used 2/3 times per week and I can’t wait to try it.
Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist – Limited Edition
Omorovicza is my favourite high end skincare brands since trying a range of their products as part of the previous LookFantastic x Omorovicza box earlier in the year. I have a couple of bottles of the famous Queen Of Hungary mist but this limited edition version is beautiful. I love the rose gold bottle and the mist is the perfect facial mist to reduce caky makeup.
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
As well as a mist, another of my favourite skincare products from the advent calendar are the facial radiance pads from First Aid Beauty. The pads contain lactic acid and glycolic acid to improve the radiance and clarity of the skin. I’ve used them a few times so far and I’m loving them.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
Elemis make some of the most loved higher end skincare and I’ve been lucky to try quite a few! The famous cream is clinically proven to reduce the look of fine lines and increase moisture levels of the skin. The cream has a lovely texture, the scent is so nice and it’s a gorgeous product to use.
Emma Hardie Moisture Boost Vit C Cream
Emma Hardie is another well loved skincare brand and I’ve loved everything I’ve tried which also includes this lovely radiance boosting and vitamin rich cream. It contains vitamin B3 vitamin C to brighten the skin. I cannot recommend Emma Hardie skincare products enough!
Prai Ageless Throat and Décolletage Cream
I haven’t used a specific throat and décolletage cream before but this offering from Prai sounds great! It contains hyaluronic acid (which is amazing for dry skin types) and it claims to moisturise and firm the skin.
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel
Next up a product I’ve been loving for the past month, the Oskia cleansing gel which I received as part of the LookFantastic September ‘birthday’ box and I’ve been using every since. The cleansing gel is my ideal cleanser as it’s very effective but gentle. I cannot recommend it enough!
Rodial Dragons Blood Lip Mask
The final skincare item is a lip mask from Rodial. I have tried a lip mask before and while I do find them to be effective, it is a strange experience using one! I think it’s an interesting and unusual addition to the advent calendar.
Bubble T x LookFantastic Salted Caramel Bath Bomb
I love Bubble T so I was happy to see their products in the advent calendar, especially because they smell so incredible! I haven’t heard of salted caramel scented bath bombs before and the scent is delicious. I cannot wait to use them!
Molton Brown Pink Pepper Shower Gel
Another bath and body brand that I love is Molton Brown, especially their shower gels and candles. The ylang ylang range is my favourite but the pink pepper scent is gorgeous as well. It contains notes of pink pepper, tangerine, elemi oil and ginger so it is the most perfect autumnal scent.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Hand Cream
Now finally onto the last couple of body products and haircare items. The Neal’s Yard Remedies hand cream comes in the prettiest bottle! Hand creams are an essential for me at this time of the year and it’s always nice to use one that’s not only beautifully packaged but also heavenly scented and effective.
Rituals Dry Oil
Last but not least for body care is a mini body and hair oil from Rituals. It contains sweet aloud oil and Indian rose so it smells lovely and it’s a very nourishing hair and body oil. I haven’t tried much from Rituals but now I definitely want to try more.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
The penultimate item is the well loved and famous hair mask, the elasticizer. I have tried a few samples of this hair mask and it’s fantastic for smoothing and moisturising the hair. I use it on dry hair rather than damp hair and it works just as well but it makes it more convenient to use.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Styling Treatment
Last but definitely not least is a hair styling treatment from a brand that I definitely need to try more from! It protects the hair from heat up to 230 degrees celsius, smoothes the hair and volumises. I haven’t tried it yet but I can’t wait to as I love all of the samples I’ve tried from this brand so far, especially their instant de-frizzer.
