I love this time of the month as it means that all the subscription boxes are coming out and I adore the mystery of them all. The July LookFantastic box was amazing and one of the best boxes I’ve ever received so I couldn’t wait for the August box. However, compared to how amazing the previous box was, this months box was a little bit disappointing, in my opinion.
Let’s start with one of the cutest items in the box, the Lottie London Balm Ball Lip Hydrator which has one of the weirdest product names but the packaging is so cute. I have the ‘cherry pie’ flavour, I don’t know if you could have received any other options. I like the balm, it is very quick and easy to use; also it’s perfect for travelling.
Next up, a couple of more unusual products! The Mane ‘n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner minis which are products I’ve seen around the beauty community for years but I’ve never picked them up as they are meant for horses…I’ve tried them once already and they left my hair feeling quite dry and as though I had texturising products in it. I will use them up but I personally won’t be buying the full size.
The only facial skincare product in the box is the Gatineau Gentle Silk Cleanser. I have tried this cleanser once so far and I did like it as it was very gentle on the skin and fairly effective but for me it isn’t anything special or exciting.
There are two makeup items in the August LookFantastic box and the first is a brow pencil in the shade ‘brunette’ by Lord and Berry which is a brand that pops up constantly in beauty box and I feel like they need to switch up the brands more often. The brow pencil shade seems to match well, it is a good size for travelling and I will use it up.
The penultimate product is from one of my favourite brands, Korres. I adore the Korres lip butters and shower gels so I was excited to give this a go. The body milk comes in a few scents so you may receive a different option but I have the ‘basil lemon’ scent which sounds amazing…however to me it smells like soapy lemon washing up liquid. The product itself is fantastic but sadly I’m not a fan of the scent at all.
The final item in the August LookFantastic box is my favourite! The Skin7 Super+ BB Cream which is the perfect shade match for my pale skin, it blends like a dream, I love the packaging and it lasts all day. It doesn’t emphasise dryness, it has light to medium coverage and I am definitely going to take this on holiday with me! I’m very impressed with this BB cream!
