Out of all the beauty subscription boxes I’ve tried, the one that has always impressed me is LookFantastic. Sadly there was a delay with last months box so there won’t be a review for the April box but the May box has arrived and it’s fantastic!
Each LookFantastic box has a different theme and box design and this month, the box design is just gorgeous. It’s pink and rose gold and you can’t go wrong with pink and rose gold. I love to re-use these boxes as storage boxes or to post other items in.
The theme for the May box is ‘get the glow’ and from that I thought it would be all about highlighters, bronzers, skincare that exfoliates and I what arrived met my expectations with a few other products thrown in that I’m very intrigued to try. As with the other boxes, you receive an almost mini magazine about the products and the box as well as a travel sized copy of Elle magazine.
Let’s start with the only haircare product in the box, the System Professional Luxe Oil which is an oil for the hair to nourish and condition. I love hair oils, I either use them about an hour before I wash my hair almost as a deep oil treatment or I use them when my hair is damp to reduce frizz when my hair is dry. I can’t wait to use this one!
Next up is a skincare product tat I hadn’t heard of before and the brand is new to me too. Real Chemistry Luminous 3 Minute Peel which is a skin peel treatment that removes dead skin cells to leave renewed skin. It’s a tiny size but I’ve been able to try it out once and it may be an unusual product to use and unlike anything else I’ve ever used but it makes such a difference to my skin. It left my skin incredibly smooth, soft and deeply cleansed. I will be looking into buying the full size!
Sticking with the skincare theme, the Nuface by Carol Cole Cloth that isn’t listed as a product in the LookFantastic beauty box booklet – maybe it’s a bonus sample? It is a cleansing and exfoliating face cloth which I’m definitely interested to try.
The final skincare item is along the same lines as the Nuface by Carol Cole Cloth. It’s the Glow Hydro Demaquillage Quick Treat which again is a cleansing and makeup removing cloth that removes makeup with only water. I have never seen products like this before and now there are two in one beauty box. They both sound like they would be fantastic for travelling or camping during the summer holidays.
Let’s move onto the one makeup item in the May box and it’s the Mellow Baked Eyeshadow in the shade Cream which isn’t the most exciting item but it’s definitely a beautiful creamy highlight or eyeshadow shade. As it’s a baked eyeshadow it has a very creamy, smooth texture so it blends effortlessly.
There has been such a wide range of products in this box already and now we have a tanning product which definitely fits with the glowing and summery theme of the box. The James Reed H20 Gradual Tan Mist hydrates and nourishes while adding a hint of colour. I’ve heard amazing things about this tanning brand and I will definitely be giving it a go as I’m so incredibly pale!
Last but not least is one of my favourite products from the box; it’s the Scrub Love Hydrating Coconut Oil Body Scrub in the Coconut Cranberry option. I have used it a couple of times now and I’m so impressed as I expected it to be not very abrasive but it is. It doesn’t just fall of the skin or have no noticeable effect but it leaves my skin exfoliated, smooth and soft.
