Anyone that knows me even just a tiny bit will know that I absolutely LOVE cats. Like, I’m obsessed with my fur baby and I love all fur babies like they are all my children. I’m the extremely proud mum to Prince the cat (don’t worry – there are some pictures of him at the end of the post!) and spend probably about 87% of my waking hours thinking about him/feeding him/playing with him/brushing him… Want to know my other love in the world? Subscription boxes. Urm, hello, who doesn’t want a surprise present through the post every month packed full of goodies?! Now, I never thought a subscription box themed around cats would exist… but it does! And it’s AMAZING! Introducing: My Purrfect Gift Box!
For only £22.50 per month, you get handpicked cat themed items – these could be absolutely anything, so the surprise is definitely the best bit! My Purrfect Gift Box isn’t just a cat themed box however, if you choose the upgraded option at £30.50 per month, you can get a lifestyle box with goodies not only for YOU, but also for your fur baby! So you can both enjoy the box together and use it to up your quality human-kitty bonding time.
Enough of me rambling about how much I love cats (soz, guys!)… let’s see what came in this month’s cocktail themed My Purrfect Gift Box!
The first lifestyle items in the box for us humans were the cocktail shaker and recipe cards. Obviously, you need a cocktail shaker to make a bar worthy cocktail – and this shaker definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s got a bit of weight to it, so is obviously good quality, and has a lid as well as a small sieve in the top of the shaker, so you can pour out your drinks without getting any bits or unwanted lumps of ice in your glass. It’s even got the My Purrfect Gift Box logo on the side of it – cat everythaaang!
Obviously, the nice folks down at My Purrfect Gift Box HQ didn’t want to leave us stranded and also chucked in some recipe cards. Aptly named around cats: ‘The Black Cat’, ‘The Purrfect Nap’, ‘The Atomic Cat’, and my personal fave ‘The Lint Roller’ – plenty of ideas to put your cocktail shaker to good use!
If you’re busy making cocktails, you obviously don’t want to make a mess. My Purrfect Gift Box really thought of everything – in the box were these adorable felted cat coasters! You can rest peacefully knowing your cat themed cocktail party really is cat themed. No detail is going to go a miss when even your coasters are cat shaped!
These cute cat wine charms are a personal little fave of mine from the box. Wine charms are something I always just associate with weddings and hen parties – I’d never think to actually buy some for myself around the house. Such a simple addition of the wine charm makes your glass of wine that little bit more special, and definitely makes sure you’re always close to something kitty themed!
The last gift for humans in this month’s My Purrfect Gift Box is this cat shaped corkscrew. This is absolutely genius – there’s even a foil knife which flicks out as the cat’s tail (which I unfortunately didn’t discover until after I had taken the photos!). It’s extremely sturdy and good quality, and certainly looks a little more impressive at a party than a standard corkscrew!
Now… what about the presents for our little furry friends?!
First up is this catwine in flavour ‘Purrgundy‘. Don’t worry guys – it clearly states 0% vol on the front – it’s not real wine! The ingredients are filtered water, salmon oil, organic cat nip and organic food colouring – all kitty friendly ingredients! I actually haven’t had a chance to give this to Prince the cat yet – I keep forgetting! I might save it for when he’s been a super good kitty as a little treat!
Next up in the box was another little edible treat – a pouch of almo nature raw pack pet food. I have to admit that this was unfortunately the only product in the box that I was disappointed with – the food inside was SO watery and really didn’t look or smell great. I actually didn’t feel comfortable giving Prince the cat this food pack and threw it out. He prefers jelly or gravy pouches, but this was neither, and I don’t know – I just had a weird gut feeling about the texture and quality of this pouch. But hey ho – not every product in subscription boxes is going to be suited for everyone/cat!
The last product in the My Purrfect Gift Box has to be both mine and Prince the cat’s favourite – this Vino felted cat toy. Prince doesn’t normally play with toys unless they’re attached to a string – he likes something he can hunt and chase. I was therefore extremely surprised when he instantly pounced on this toy and loved it! Even now, a couple of months later, he still randomly pounces on it and proceeds to throw it around the room and play with it. I’m extremely impressed and would definitely pick up some more of these felted toys for him.
