This month’s Kawaii Care box of beauty and skincare products from Japan and Korea focuses on self-care with a cute twist.
The menu tells you all about each item in the box, and you can also learn about uniquely Japanese ways of relaxing, including visiting a cat cafe! What a brilliant idea, I’d love to go to one of those.
CICA Special Skin Care Face Mask, Love Me Skin Patch
The face mask contains cica, which is a herb which is very popular in Asia for soothing skin. It’s known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and the mask feels absolutely lovely, especially if your skin is feeling a bit sensitive.
The skin patches are a super cute version of those spot patches. I think almost everybody gets the odd blemish, and for an overnight treatment these little heart-shaped patches are perfect for calming down any angry redness, and possibly dissuading any nasties from erupting!
Nonkuma Multi-Type Patches
These are a set of facial area-specific patches for the forehead and eye areas. Designed to combat fatigued skin , they provide lots of lovely moisture and even better, you can reuse them for as long as they stick! The instructions for use are helpfully provided in the the booklet.
Kumamon Foaming Net, Beauty Drop Hydrogel Neck Cover
Foaming cleanser is a Japanese favourite, but alternatively you can make your regular facial cleanser foam beautifully using this clever net bag. You simply add cleanser, rub it between your hands, and even the most unbubbly of cleansers will become lovely and bubbly, and it feels lovely on your face too.
The neck wrap targets an area we often forget about in skincare. It’s a cotton wrap infused with several moisturising and nourishing ingredients, including jojoba oil and rose, and it’s reusable as well.
A’Pieu Juicy Pang Sparkling Tint, Furupuru Moisturising Cream, Labiotte Flomance Lip Colour Shine (mystery item)
The sparkling lip tint does double duty with colour and moisture. There are one of two Japan-exclusive colours, and there’s a tiny bit of sparkle too, and when it dries you are still left with a lovely colour that can even be layered.
The adorable kitty pot contains a fantastic multi-use moisturiser. You can apply it to face, hands, nails, body, and apparently even to smooth the hair (though I haven’t tried that). It’s got a lovely damask rose scent, and the pot is so cute you can keep and reuse it afterwards.
The last item is a mystery item, and I have another lip tint. The colour is really quite strong, though you can also layer it with lipstick for shine. The rose packaging is really cute, and it also smells like rose, so a great combination with the rose moisturiser!
