In January nomakenolife unveiled its brand new upgraded design!
It now contains 8 – 9 items of cosmetic and skincare products from both Japan and Korea, two places which are very serious about their beauty products.
They have one-, three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions costing from $35 (around £27) for one month (longer subscriptions are cheaper). Shipping is free.
The shipping box has a new look along with the new box format: it’s larger, and is a gorgeous pink colour.
The menu booklet has had a refresh, and the box contents are hidden under pretty pink paper.
This month’s box is all about colours for Springtime!
The menu tells you about each item in the box, including whether it’s from Japan or Korea.
It’s very appealing when you open up the box!
The first four items are all Korean.
You saw this BK7 Cake Hand Cream on the top of the box! This cute hand cream from Korea is in three possible scents. Mine is Banana, and other options were strawberry and blueberry, each with equally adorable packaging. It smells very nice, definitely like real banana cake rather than artificial banana, but not too sweet. Extra cute factor with the box that looks like a cake slice!
Also at the top of the box, a Berrisom Animal Mask. These come is a variety of animals, with a different skincare element for each animal. I have the dog version, which contains hyaluronic acid, which produces a plumping effect to minimize fine lines.
A colourful product now, Etude House Look At My Eyes Eye Shadow. This is the red version, and there is also a possible pink option. It’s nicely pigmented and goes on nicely, especially with eye primer.
Like the hand cream, this Candy Lip Tint is also from BK7. Again, it’s got super cute packaging, the applicator is the lolly stick and the actual tint is inside the lolly itself! Of the three possible varieties, I’ve got Red Orange.
Moving to the Japanese products, the first on is Wavy Hair Curler Set. These are a set of three foam pieces that you thread your hair through to create waves.
Fortunately there are instructions on the back!
Another hair accessory, this time a Mineral Ion Hairbrush. Apparently the bristles contain natural mineral ores that nourish your hair as you brush it.
A Facial Cleansing Brush is useful for a little regular exfoliation as you cleanse your face. This will go nicely with the lovely foaming cleanser back in the January box!
Finally, another pop of colour with this Colour Mascara! I have the red version, though there is also the possibility of a blue variety.
This month is certainly colourful! I love sheet masks, and I’m really happy with one that reduces fine lines (eek!).
The hand cream is delicious, and it’s something I like to have around all the time, especially as my hands get very dry over the winter. Definite bonus kawaii points too!
I think the mascara is incredibly fun but a little out there for me. There’s a lot I’ll try, but I’m not sure I can pull off that look on the school run!
I remember those bendy foam things for curling hair, that looked crazy but actually worked pretty well, so I’m intrigued by the hair wavers. I think they are meant to produce to produce a beachy wave-type look which will look very pretty this summer. Plus it gives me plenty of time to master how to use them!
The hairbrush is a really useful size, and will be perfect for my bag.
Overall, this is another really nice selection. Three cosmetics are a slightly more than average, so this is a particularly good box for makeup fans this month. While skincare is a little more my thing, the mask is terrific, and I’m really intrigued by the hair wavers, I’m definitely going to enjoy trying these out as my hair is very straight as I love to have wavy hair!
Asian skincare has an excellent reputation for quality, and these products are most frequently only available in Japan, Korea, etc, so you’re unlikely to be able to find them elsewhere. I have moderately sensitive skin, and have never had any problems with any of these products.
For the range of goodies you get, I think the value is really very good, especially as they’re not things you can pick up in you local drugstore!
