Not Another Bill are a really interesting subscription box that I’ve come across recently who specialise in unique gifts. I’ve always admired contemporary art and design, and I love incorporating these elements into my life wherever I can, be it a piece of art for my living room or something quirky but functional for the kitchen. Needless to say, when I saw the range of products available from Not Another Bill, I was immediately impressed as they have so many unusual gifts that you just don’t stumble across on the high street anymore. As we’re all living in a much more gentrified and uniform world of the same chains and brands everywhere, it’s a breath of fresh air to find a website like Not Another Bill who source their products from smaller, lesser known designers and more niche companies.
You can use Not Another Bill to send a bespoke one-off gift to a friend or loved one by visiting their e-shop, or you can subscribe and your recipient or yourself, will receive a special gift from them every month. When you sign up, there’s a short profile that you can fill in to tell them about your personal tastes and which categories you’re interested in receiving gifts from e.g Art, Nostalgic, Ladies, Jewellery, Stationery, Gentlemen, Homewares, Kitchen, Outdoors, Apothecary etc.
Not Another Bill have recently launched tailor-made subscriptions so that you have the option of being able to choose the gifts that you want to receive every month, or you can let Not Another Bill choose one for you as a surprise based on your profile. I think it’s a great idea to have those options available as I know that not everyone likes the surprise element!I decided to try out the tailor-made subscription option and I spent a good amount of time looking at the products available – they really do have something for everyone! For my March box, I chose a set of three ornamental glass Scientific Lab Flasks in the larger 250ml sizes. I’ve always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to science related paraphernalia so these were right up my street!
They arrived in a sturdy cardboard box which was delivered promptly by Royal Mail, and each item was carefully wrapped in lots of bubble wrap to ensure that they all arrived in perfect condition, which they did.
I’m really happy with these – they’re great quality and can be used for so many purposes such as vases for flowers, storing pens, makeup brushes or smaller bits and bobs, or simply for quirky ornamental purposes to liven up a desk or windowsill.
I’m currently using them to store some of my make-up brushes as you can see above and I think they look pretty neat! I love the three different shapes and I’m happy that I decided to choose the larger 250ml sizes as they’re a perfect fit for my brushes. Not Another Bill also have these Scientific Lab Flasks available in 100ml sizes if you prefer a smaller set.
